Salam

If you have doubts about him and wish to study aqeedah then you have many other alternatives available to you as well who lets say are probably more well known, and I'm sure many here can recommend you articles/vids etc for Aqeedah.

In regards to the shaykh then Allah knows best, personally I've never heard of him, however bro London might know I'll let him know to check this thread when he gets a chance.

I am reluctant to comment. I used to think very ill of the shaykh until I met one of his close students who said the shaykh does not insult the companions like Sayidunah Muawiyah rh. The shaykh's student was a good brother. At the same time I cannot recommend you study aqeedah with the shaykh being a deobandi. It maybe better to get some aqeedah from shaykh abdur rahman bin yusuf.

Jazakallahu khair, brothers. I am looking for scholars who are not related to Indian subcontinent and especially free from salafi, ahle hadees, deobandi and barelwi backgrounds.

I am eager to listen aqida lessons of any scholar who is not related to the above mentioned backgrounds.

I m not sure if we have to go that deep in aqeedah studies. The shaykh's lectures on aqeedah seems to be very deep. I personally do not think he has any deviancy (but all I know about him is from the internet), but still those aqeedah classes are not necessary for us laymen. Just get hold of a good translation of aqeedah tahawiyya which contains the basic points of aqeedah and you will be fine InshaAllah.

Sahabah (RA) did'nt go "deep" into intricacies of Aqeedah but they went deep into intracices of "Eemaan".  That's why in our times we have "experts" of Aqeedah with minimal Islamic practise and action upon the Sunnah while the generation of the Sahaba (RA) was the exact opposite.

I happen to personally know a "lot of Internet experts on Aqeedah" and their Islamic action is abysmal.

We need to live our lives according to the Sahabah (RA). Did they get into intracices of Aqeedah? Even Imam Tahawi (RA)'s Aqeedah points are basic!

But you are free to make your choices ofcourse.

As salamualaikum,

I agree with you that praticallity is important. But Aqidah Tahawiyyah mentions:

"Belief consists of affirmation by the tongue and acceptance by the heart." and in this there is no mention of Actions(Amal).

That is a very good point, one which the Salafi use against the Hanafi.

With Iman, in the heart and the tongue, the action comes about naturally. In the other schools, especially Hanbali, actions are also included andtherefore, one is easily declared a Kafir in that school if they don't see any action.

In my lowly opinion, the Hanafi position gives the believers that extra chance of not being declared a Kafir.

Allahu alum.

Anyway, there is a better explanation to this by the scholars and inshaAllah, if time permits and memory serves, then inshaAllah I'll post the findings.

Today in the forenoon I attended a lecture by Shaikh Ninowy HA in our university. I got good vibes. I will not hesitate in gathering technical knowledge of Islam from him. After that there are the issues of differences. In some other thread I shall say a few things in that direction.
