.. the geopolitics in the region is just so hopeless. Iran and Assad where huge funders of Hamas...until Hamas showed support for the anti-Assad rebels a couple years back which ment both Iran and Assad cut off their funding ...it didn't impact Hamas hugely as Morsi was there to provide support. ..which wasnt massive in terms of money but the increased tunnelling from Egypt to Gaza provided massive tax revenue for Hamas..the Gaza economy benefitted ..and Hamas weapons stockpile ....however now Morsi is also gone and the tunnels largely sealed by Sisi , Hamas is really under huge financial pressure as theres no financial support from no one ..I guess by doing whats being done now is a way to try get some menial support from other Arab states when pressure mounts on them from their own Arab masses to support Gaza ...especially seeing bombs raining down during Ramdhan.
