How much time do you brothers (and sisters) get from the completion of the taraweeh till the end of suhoor?

Last nite was the first nite and we knew it wasn't going to be easy.

Taraweeh finished at approximately 12:30 am and then an announcement was to be made before the witr. People were looking at their watches wondering what time it'll all finish because so many people follow the 18 rule which meant that they followed one of two times (attached) either 1am or 1.22am.

We didn't get home till about 12:45+ leaving us only 30odd minutes, but what about those who opted for the 1:01am time?

From my side, the least I could do was to email the committee member and let them know of the situation. Alhumdulillah I live nearmy Masjid so it's okay, but so many people come from really far and they just wouldn't have any time!

What will they do? Pray 8 rakats and leave or adopt the (approx) 13 rule of the Masjid and follow that time of 2:36am!

AAWW, i usually pray at Aziziye (past couple years) where taraweeh finishes at about 12:10...im home by about 12:20. Alhumdulillah just about enough time.

this was the point / issue i was referring to last year. Masjids who follow this time (or intend to) should take into account Haji sab in the front row who'll be last out the door as he cant get through the crowds leaving and putting on shoes...and his car might be a few mins walk away.

though come to think of almost all the masjids in Leicester and Batley have the approx 1:30 suhoor time too....they must handle it some how

which is why im 99% sure ELM and Regents Park find it almost impossible to change...even if there was 1% 'daleel' on any later time (then the current HU times)..they'll most probs adopt it.

Look at the irony of things.

Last year we discussed this together and thought about the idea of either getting huffaz who recited well and not slow or since Esha time doesn't really matter too much during this period of year, to make Esha a little early.

But what did they do? They started later than the normal Jamaat time :(

At.least the huffaz are MashaAllah good and not slow.

And yes we just finished (the time shown at times of posting is an hour behind), so making my way home for a short snack leaving no time for anything else like tahajjud, tilawah etc.

Problem with regents park is that their Esha time in ramadhan starts 2 hours after Maghrib, so they'll never adopt any changes

Our isha starts at 10.45pm, taraweeh starts 11pm, finishes including witr by 12.05am, home by 12.15am, back to masjid at 1.35am for fajr jamaat at 1.44am, and the imams ain't messing about this year, fajr lasts about 5-7 mins!

that must be fast...? though the interpretation of fast i guess varies from person to person. Azizye doesnt do quran completion tarawih...imam recites slowly and i quite enjoy turkish imams qirat (especially Imam Mustapha Orhan over the years). ...they also usually have free teas and coffees and bisc...with ice cream van parked at entrance :-)

Most people live very close by to masjids, in Leicester every area has one in close proximity, problems would be for those living far.
