Have you considered making it yourself? I made a bow and some arrows myself once. It didn't go so well. Then again back then there was no youtube.

In most cases my points are misunderstood because it seems taking position against Sunnah, self-Ijtihaad etc. Some people buy very expensive ittar, cloth, car etc and show proofs from seerah, while other people around them keep struggling to fulfill basic needs. I find this phenomenon very hard to accept wholeheartedly.

Agreed, Israaf is obviously discouraged. Archery for starters should not be an expensive affair. Making a bow and arrows oneself is always an option.

As for horses, to fulfil the sunnah one can rent a horse. The sunnah of riding a horse will be completed inshAllah, however owning one will not be.

As for israaf, remember it is always a relative matter. A person whom Allah has granted in abundance may choose to wear the expensive ittar if he likes.

Since you are enthusiast about charity etc., that enthusiasm is voluntary and cannot be imposed on to others. Such remains the case for all voluntary facets of deen.

InshAllah have reliance on your muslim brother that after the reminder of extravagance/israaf, he will not be spending in israaf rather only if it is well within his means.

Alhamdulillah, I got a set for about US$8 [PKR800]. It is near the real thing, masha'Allah.
