Its still easier to make positive changes during ramadhan though. That's because the goofs are locked up. You can feel it in the air, in everyone around you and in yourself too. Its just easy being good.

Suddenly from being being a tahajjud guzaar (hope that's the right word), you struggling to wake up for fajr. Unbelievable!!

That's the miracle of ramadhan.

it happens.

I really get upset at few things that happen during Ramadan.

- people on war on who will take the 27 iftaar.
- 27th night lots of food, snacks entering masjid premises leading to israaf. These sponsors think that they are hugely rewarded for this act.
- preference given to 30 days Taraweeh Sunnah Salah over 335 days Isha fard Salah
- lots of Samosas, oily items during iftaar to make you dose or break wudu during taraweeh.
- Masjid management thinks that they have done a better job in organizing iftaars(inclusive of inviting a non muslim politician inside masjid)
- bringing small kids to taraweeh and disturbing the mass
- Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajioun, Women coming to masjid to pray taraveeh. I dont know whats the reason behind this?
- One rich person(committee member too) arranges iftaar and invites people to his house of grand iftaar. Wastage in masjid iftaar.
- fight over 8 vs 20. Especially the 8 rakat group creating a mess; they make sure that everyone watches him when he leaves after 8 rakat.
- people coming to hear the tune of Qari not the verses of Allah

You're right, akhi. Such behaviour from such people is upsetting thinking they can make the rules when they want i.e. when it's important to perform salah, when it's right to deprive one's self from Islamic prohibitions etc. That is definitely picking and choosing then think they deserve not to be on the spotlight because of the "it's better than nothing" notion. They should be weary of the fact Allah may not accept their ibadat at all. He is the most gracious and beneficial, but he can also be your worst enemy.

Let's hope it's not the case and Allah guides them, Ameen.

- Regular foul mouthed swearing people stop swearing
- Smokers cut down
- General kindness in the air
- Aggressive youth calm down saying "I'm fasting" or "it's Ramadhan"
- People try to change others for years and fail, yet Ramadhan changes a person just by arriving

Such is this glorious month, let's not indulge too much in negativity no matter how much we see it clearly and the fact that almost all wrongdoings take place in the Masjid out of all places and by those who think they're serving the community/Deen. Let those who listen to you know the reality and it'll spread inshaAllah.
