Two recent events warrant a serious discussion on white privilege that most Muslims would like to avoid. I too would like to avoid it, but I feel it has to be discussed about at some point, if Islam is to be strong in the West.
Recently Imam Suhaib Webb protested online against Abu Eesa Ni'matullah's Facebook rant on feminists. Then not long after that, a music video of "Happy Muslim" youth dancing overlooked by the smugly approving Abdal Hakim Murad raised a bit of controversy. It is hard for anyone to ignore what this looks like. Abdal Hakim Murad looks not much unlike British colonial master overseeing Muslim's dancing to the kaffir's tune. Imam Suhaib arguing against a misogynistic Pathan scholar, is not far off from American boots in Afghanistan saving the oppressed Muslim damsel in distress.
Mashallah Dawud Israel wrote that...great stuff. He is a very talented writer mashallah. He just needs a bit more deobandi flavour but mashallah I really enjoy a lot of his writings. May ALLAH SWT give himHIS qurb.
