السلام عليكم

A request to all members to please post lectures that you have heard and benefited from so others may also benefit from them.

The lecture may be a 5 min clip or it may be a 2 hour talk, if you found it beneficial then post up the name of the lecturer and the name of the vid, do not post up any links to video lectures ( against forum rules )

The lecture maybe something you heard years ago or it maybe something you heard this morning. All languages are welcome.

I'll go first....

Recently I have been on a certain spree, of learning about death and what happens after it, in the process I have spoken to people, read books, articles on it and watched many lectures on it. However one lecture had a huge impact on me.

If anyone wants to know what's happen's after death in some considerable detail and you need a boost/wake up call, then check out 'the hereafter series by Sheikh Hasan Ali', it changed my outlook on a lot of things.

Apart from the Aqeedah and Fiqh lectures, I highly recommend the talks by Shaykh Riyadhul Haq on Back biting and Sincerity of Intention

Thought provoking lectures, brings a whole new dimension to life.

The lectures that kept me close to Islam and Allah (SwT) are made illegal by the petrified coward western government so I don't want to mention or post them here because I believe this site takes care of all laws :)

Caught up or know someone caught up in drugs/clubbing etc then check out this lecture

In the West we live in a culture of wining and dinning, pubbing and clubbing, drugs, the high life, the life in the fast lane, kids at colleges and universities are told to go and socialise and meet new people and let the hair down, enjoy themselves and relax, colleagues at work are told to mix in with their colleagues after work or on the weekends, sadly this culture has seeped into the muslim man's life/culture.

Sadly the youth of today spend the whole week, waiting for Friday/Saturday night where they can go out and go to a night club/disco, where they can get high/intoxicated through whatever means they deem necesary, sadly many do not even deem it wrong as today everyone does it and is caught up in that life style, truth is not many people are safe from this lifestyle if they themselves aren't caught up in it then each one of us will know a friend who is. Sadly even some musalees are caught up in the habit of drugs or smoking a spliff in their personal time to relax. May Allah protect us from all forms of intoxicants

Awesome lecture by Shaykh Ahmad Ali called 'The Johnny Five youth'

All the lectures of shaykh Muhammad musa al-shareef. Very deep research. His biographies on the ulema/mashaikh is outstanding. Can all be found in Arabic with good English subtitles. May ALLAH SWT reward the shaykh. I found something interesting. The shaykh never wears the Saudi red shawl though he is Saudi but always white. Mashallah this was interesting.

Bro all of them without exception. He has huge number of biographies even one on shaykh abul hasan ali nadwi rh. I liked all of them. Some of them that were my personal favourite were the imams of the ahle bait. It is always useful to hear from the sunni perspective about the great imams of the ahle bait who the shia wrongly sanctify to another level. I personally like the biographies of freedom fighters like shaykh umar mukhtar, shaykh shamil etc.

I heard one of his talks last week, about the Ottaman Khalifa who conquered Constantinople. It has two parts.
Unfortunately I cant remember the Khalifa's name. Will give it a search and post inshaAllah.
