Probably my question was not clear enough dr sahib,my apologies....!

In simple words,if one sees his own 'takhayyl' filled with the thoughts of the prophet in dream....technically speaking it will not be a 'dream' anyway...the rules of dream will not apply to it,still the poor dreamer will take as a dream....and a dream in which he saw the prophet salallaho alaihe wa sallam.

I mean we commoners do see such dreams, like while if we are preparing for exams we constantly see exam situation in dreams..,but clearly these are our own random thoughts.....

If he sees the Prophet (saw) in his dream then he'll know it's Rasoolalah (saw) there is no ifs or buts to it regardless of what he may have imagined. We have been told his description in ahadith narrated from many Sahaba and some went in to considerable detail, so yes we will have a sketch shall I say in our minds.

But when you see him you'll know if it's him or not, secondly you can also verify by asking Mashaykh and they'll confirm for you, depending on their own spirituality connection levels if any.

Akhi have you seen a vid on YouTube by Nouman Ali khan : the story of Robert Davilla

It's about a paralysed Christian man who sees Rasoolalah (saw) in his dream and from here he gets hadayyah

Check it out if you haven't, some mind blowing stuff

www.muftisays.com/forums/51-urdu-nasheeds/8457-the-story-...

I would recommend viewing the vid on YouTube, rather than just listening to the audio, more effective in my opinion.

That's what I believe about the interpretations of dreams.

As-Salaamu 'Alaykum respected sister Maria,

What Maulana A.S. Desai mentioned was specifically about the dreams in which Rasulullah (s.a.w.) is seen in a deformed state (short beard, white beard etc...). This is where we hit a bit of unclarity and speculation.

The science of dream interpretation in general, however, is a rock solid 'ilm just like any other in Islam. This is attested to by the Qur'an in surah Yusuf. In general, its not a science of speculation or 'theory'. Dream Interpretations (if done by a qualified person) are almost always spot on. Allah gives this knowledge to whoever he wills, and it should be taken seriously.

This was just a heads up.

Requesting du'aas,
Wassalaam.

May I request for you to explain this statement please? Where is this "rock solid" ilm required and what are the parameters for it?
