Salaams.

These seems to be conflictive reports on this. Aisha (RA) seems to suggest no one can see Allah (SWT) whilst on Sahabas (RA) report he did.

Is this another matter some of the scholars differ on?

Also, how Allah would not have created the Earth if it wasn't for our Prophet (SAW)? Allah (SWT) says in the Qu'ran he created human to worship Him and Him alone. I've never read upon these issues as much, so wanted to discuss it with the knowledgable brothers here.

I've done a search and I can't find any previous threads.

Wether the Hadith is authentic or not, but Maulana Ilyas Ghuman [HA] has a great explanation why it's meaning is acceptable. In a nutshell the purpose is to worship Allah and the means is Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam). He explains further: If the crowd asked him why he came, he can reply "I came to lecture you" or "I came because so-and-so invited me". There's no contradiction of these both answers, one is the purpose and one is the means.

Its not my opinion you can take it up with Shaykh (Mufti) Hussain Kadodia (HA) and he is specifically discussing the matter in the whole thread. The point is of the Authenticity of Hadeeth and you cannot prove points of Aqeedah by "implicit linking" even Khabar Ahad is not acceptable in Aqaid let alone implicit matters.

If you are asking my personal opinion (which is nothing) then I believe in whatever Imam Tahawi (RA) has written.

I know the Hadith is unauthentic, but I never regarded it as an issue of 'Aqidah. But my perception can be wrong.

Many people quote a narration "If it wasn't for Prophet Allah would not have created the world." Is this a Hadith?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu 'alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

There is no doubt that loving, honouring and following the Prophet ṣalallahu ʿalayhi wasallam is compulsory and a requirement of Imān. Reciting, memorising and disseminating authentic and established Ahādīth is also from the love of the Prophet ṣalallahu ʿalayhi wasallam. However, spreading and quoting fabricated Ahādīth despite knowing the status of it is totally prohibited and disrespectful to the Prophet ṣalallahu ʿalayhi wasallam.

Fabrications do not elevate the status of the Prophet ṣalallahu ʿalayhi wasallam.

One such famous narration often quoted as a Hadīth is:

لَوْلاكَ لَمَا خَلَقْتُ الأَفْلاكَ

"If it had not been for you, I would not have created the universe."

The Muḥaddithūn have stated the following with regards to this narration:

Imam Sāghānī rahimahullah states that this is a fabrication.

This is endorsed by ʿAllamah Tahir al-Patnī rahimahullah in his Tadhkirat al-Mawḍūʿāt.

Mullā ʿAlī al-Qārī rahimahullah also reiterates the same opinion in his al-Mawḍūʿāt al-Kubrā.

Hafiẓ ibn Hajar al-Asqalānī rahimahullah has also stated that this narration is a fabrication.

Maulana Abd al-Hayy al-Laknawī rahimahullah states in his Tadhkihrat al-Rāshiḍ that this narration is a fabrication.

Imam al-Suyūtī rahimahullah has also classified this report as a clear fabrication in his al-La'ālī al-Masnūʿah.

In light of the above, the wording of the report is clearly fabricated.

Although the wording is a fabrication and it is not a Hadīth, many of the Muḥaddithūn have stated the meaning to be sound. In other words, the Prophet ṣalallahu ʿalayhi wasallam is the most beloved to Allah Taʿālā. The rank and status of the messenger of Allah outranks and excels the worth of the entire universe in the sight of Allah.

Jazak'Allah, like I said not an issue of Aqidah but just adds up to the status of Rasulullah (sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam).

@Imam Ali: Did you read my post? If you want to solve the issue then it's very easy to understand the difference between "Being created to..." and "Being created because..." But if your mind is made up from before, you'll always feel it's a contradiction. Of course you don't have to accept it, because as we know the Hadith is unauthentic.

Subhan Allah.. Hazrat Hakeem ul Ummat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanwi sahab رحمة الله عليه has written an interesting Risalah on this topic of our Beloved Prophet (saw)

seeing Allah سبحانه وتعالى while in Meraj.
The Risalah is called Ahkam At' Tajalli Min At' Ta'alla wa Tadalli. Hazrat رحمة الله عليه has raised some strong points from Ahadeeth and Seerah mubarak in the favour of Him (saw)
