[48:29] Muhammad (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam)is the messenger of Allah, and those who are with him are hard on the disbelievers, compassionate among themselves; you will see them bowing down in Ruku, prostrating themselves in Sajdah, seeking grace from Allah, and (His) good pleasure; their distinguishing feature is on their faces from the effect of Sajdah (prostration). This is their description in Torah; and their description in Injil is like a sown crop that brings forth its shoot, then makes it strong, then it grows thick and stands straight on its stem, looking good to the farmers, so that He may enrage the disbelievers through them. Allah has promised forgiveness and a huge reward to those of them who believe and do good deeds.

Brother,
There are 3 responses to your question:
Response # 1:
Sahabah (RA) were the best of Muslims and they worried about a leader and didn't merely contend themselves with improving Eemaan and Aamaal but made efforts to select the best of leaders.
Response # 2:
We know that the state of Indian Muslims with regards to Eemaan and Aamaal is bad so what we do? Leave the fate of millions to BJP? Do you want what happened in Gujarat to be repeated (Allah forbid!) with all of our daughters?
Response # 3:
How about improving people's Emaan and also working to safeguard the physical life, honour, respect and dignity of Muslims at the same time.
If you chose 3 then this is what Shariah teaches you. No command in Islam tells you to work on Eemaan and leave other factors alone

This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
