What do people make of the smear campaign against Mayor Lutfur rahman. I am sure he has many shortcomings but the attacks against him seem very nasty. Mashallah one has to rate the Bangladeshi community in Tower Hamlets for being united and voting in their man who does his best for the local community. In my local borough which neighbours Tower Hamlets the anti-Islamic mayor wins with a huge majority and does as he pleases. There is hardly any development as in comparison to Tower Hamlets. It is funny how these filthy people complain about low turnout from non-muslims in tower hamlets and the high turnout by Bangladeshis....When democracy works for them it is all well and good but when democracy brings in Hamas, Muslim brotherhood or any Islamic leaning people or those who do good they are the first to attack the system. Anyway let us make dua for mayor lutfur Rahman. May ALLAH keep him on the straight path and make him a means of good for the community. May the enemies of Islam get hidya and may ALLAH disunite them and make their plans naught....

I heard a year or so back when all the Markaz protests/talks were going on that Newham apparently has either 2% less or 2% more Muslims than Tower Hamlets yet look at the difference, the lack of unity (in my opinion) has resulted in Muslims in Newham continuously being on the Backfoot.

In my local area, my Masjid failed to get permission to develop their next door so it forms part of the wider Masjid yet, in the neighbouring area (East Ham), permission is granted for a brand new Hindu Temple to be built (from scratch) which is within a mile of arguably East London's biggest Hindu Temple which is ironically, located within a heavily populated Muslim area...

We need the likes of an East London Masjid in Newham to rally all of our local Masjids! Maybe just maybe the answer could be... London Markaz!

bro shamim what can be done. Markaz is not the answer, nor is it their field. I pray the situation changes. This robin wales the foolish man may the curse of ALLAH be on him thinks he is untouchable. May ALLAH continyue blessing tower hamlets and may ALLAH reward mayor lutfur rahman for his good work. What has robin wales actually done for newham? It is zilch except attacking Islam and Muslims.

If Robin wales or any of his mates are reading this pass the message on. Still the time is left for him to repentent and be a bit more just.

I just picked up London's Evening Standard news paper, the front page is covering the story about the fraud and swoops etc. Doesn't look good. Allah knows best.

though Bhai London786 knows my personal views wrt Newham and Markaz issue i do feel the current TH Mayor issue and B'ham schools issue are just double standards. If and when the pro-gay/lesbian lobby manages to get a few seats on the board on say Firefox/Mozilla then anyone who doesnt toe their pro-gay/lesbian line is hounded (by those members on the board and supporters who share the same ideology) and called homophobs etc. Heck, you can say the same about any ideology...what if a council got a majority seating of local Labour, Tory or Lib-Dem counsellors (so they can ensure most of their party's policies are carried through to implementation when local council issues are decided and council policy is formed )...would that be considered a 'plot' to take over the council = no, of course not, its how the political game is played in many democracies....
