Many scholars I've listened to have all this made profoundly because there are many things unique about him. What do you guys think?
- Each Haj is ultimately his Sunnah
- We remember him and our Prophet (SAW) in Durood Shareef
- Him and our Prophet (SAW) were look a likes:
It is narrated on the authority of Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: There appeared before me the apostles, and Moses was among men as if he was one of the people of Shanu'a, and I saw Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon him) and I saw nearest in resemblance with him was 'urwa b. Mas'ud, and I saw Ibrahim (blessings of Allah be upon him) and I see your companions much in resemblance with him, i. e. his personality, and I saw Gabriel (peace be upon him) and I saw Dihya nearest in resemblance to him; but in the narration of Ibn Rumh it is Dihya b. Khalifa. (Book #001, Hadith #0321)
Narrated Mujahid: That when the people mentioned before Ibn 'Abbas that the Dajjal would have the word Kafir, (i.e. unbeliever) or the letters Kafir (the root of the Arabic verb 'disbelieve') written on his forehead, I heard Ibn 'Abbas saying, "I did not hear this, but the Prophet said, 'If you want to see Abraham, then look at your companion (i.e. the Prophet) but Moses was a curly-haired, brown man (who used to ride) a red camel, the reins of which was made of fires of date-palms. As if I were now looking down a valley."
He was the ONLY Prophet, Allah instructed our Mohammed (SAW) to follow and seek inspiration from:
And who would be averse to the Millah of Ibrahim except one who makes a fool of himself. And We had chosen him in this world, and indeed he, in the Hereafter, will be among the righteous." (Qur'an 2:30)
"Then We revealed to you, (O Muhammad), to follow the Millah of Ibrahim, inclining toward truth; and he was not of those who associate with Allah." (Qur'an 16:123)
- He's the first to wear the clothes of Jannah:
Narrated Ibn Abbas: The Prophet said, "You will be gathered (on the Day of Judgment), bare-footed, naked and not circumcised." He then recited:--'As We began the first creation, We, shall repeat it: A Promise We have undertaken: Truly we shall do it.' (21.104) He added, "The first to be dressed on the Day of Resurrection will be Abraham, and some of my companions will be taken towards the left side (i.e. to the (Hell) Fire), and I will say: 'My companions! My companions!' It will be said: 'They renegade from Islam after you left them.' Then I will say as the Pious slave of Allah (i.e. Jesus) said. 'And I was a witness Over them while I dwelt amongst them. When You took me up You were the Watcher over them, And You are a witness to all things. If You punish them. They are Your slaves And if You forgive them, Verily you, only You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." (5.120-121) (Book #55, Hadith #568)
Our master the Prophet declared: (On the Day of Judgment, you will be gathered barefoot, with naked heads, and uncircumcised. The first one to be clothed will be Ibrahim 'alaihis-salam. Allahu ta'ala will say, "Let Ibrahim, My friend, put on clothes, so that people will realize his virtue." After him, the other people will be clothed in accordance with their deeds.) [Abu Nu'aym]
He and our Prophet (SAW) were only the Khalils and all Prophets by default all Prophets are Habibs of Allah so, thus some scholars have regarded the classification Khalilullah to be higher as this prestige compliment has only given to 2 people in the history of mankind.
"And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the Millah of Ibrahim, inclining toward truth? And Allah took Ibrahim as an intimate friend." (Qur'an 4:125)
He was made the leader of the entire mankind:
And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers." (Qu'ran 2:124)
These are just some of the qualities that characterise Prophet Ibrahim (AS), Allah has given him in the Qu'ran.
For Abraham was, without doubt, forbearing (of faults), compassionate, and given to look to Allah. (Qu'ran 11:75-123)
Verily, Ibrahim was an Ummah (or a nation), obedient to Allah, Hanif (i.e. to worship none but Allah), and he was not one of those who were Al-Mushrikin (polytheists), (He was) thankful for His (Allah's) favours. He (Allah) chose him and guided him to a straight path. And We gave him good in this world, and in the Hereafter he shall be of the righteous. Then, We have sent the revelation to you (O Muhammad saying): "Follow the religion of Ibrahim Hanif (Islamic Monotheism ـ to worship none but Allah) and he was not of the Mushrikin. (Qu'ran16:120-123)
Allah defended his Khalil in the Qu'ran when the Christian and Jews Mushriks were arguing he was one of them:
O People of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason? Here you are - those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you know not. Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim [submitting to Allah ]. And he was not of the polytheists. (Qu'ran 2: 65-67) - ALLAHU AKHBAR!
Our Prophet (SAW) named one of his kids after him whom he had with Maria al-Qibtiyya (RA).
And, he was a mate of our Prophet (SAW):
Sa`id bin Mansur recorded that Ibn Mas`ud said that the Messenger of Allah said: Every Prophet had a Wali (best friend) from among the Prophets. My Wali among them is my father Ibrahim, the Khalil (intimate friend) of my Lord, the Exalted and Most Honored). It's authentic "(Saheeh al-Jami" 2158)
And, finally he was regarded number 1 by our Prophet (SAW) in his modesty of course:
Anas b. Malik reported that a person came to Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: O the best of creation; thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: He is Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Sahih Muslim, Book 030, Number 5841
We all know he met his forefather in the 7th heaven.
According to the Ulema, I've come across that have talked about Ibrahim (AS) have declared that Prophets that personafied the firmness of Tawheed the most in their teachings was Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet (SAW) which, is why they were given the unique title of Khalils.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
