A Hindu Friend of mine was asking that "do muslims believe in hindu gods" and at that moment i kept quiet and i said i dont have deep knowledge about the issue (I acted in this way because if i give the answer he may get offended and this conversation was going when i sorrunded by other hindus) and referred him to see Dr.Zakir naik videos and Nouman ali khan videos ?
If i am missing any good speakers/scholars/articles/books/videos on the issue please let me know.
What else should i do to encourage him to study islam ? Any good tips or tactics ?
Should i directly tell him that muslims dont believe in hindu gods ? Will my validity of emaan get affected if i keep quiet about the issue ?
Hindus have a god for everything, We believe in one God who is called Allah.
No we don't believe in their gods, as we believe in Allah.
To refer him to Zakir Naik ain't a good idea in my opinion, because the Hindu will most likely come back to you and say we believe in the same God, just we call him Vishnu etc and you call him Allah. It'll leave you in a tricky spot and this is what you want to avoid.
No in depth knowledge is required that we as Muslims do not believe in their Gods, We believe Allah is one and Allah is alone.
In regards to validity of iman ask a mufti or post in the fiqh section of this forum.
Perhaps the best book lucid easy to understand on Hinduism vs titled:
'Hinduism and Islam' by Murtahin Billah Fazlie
Author quotes Hazrath Thanwi (rh) I believe
He is pro madhab...plus its not in your face so you can also gift the book to him if you feel it so...don't go for Zakir Naik..
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
