Searched for the narration (on concern for a moment is better than ibadah for 60 years etc.) while still waiting for the Mufti's response.

The search pulled up names of muhaddiths and one of the sources that were referenced for the variating narrations was, Iraqi in Takhrijul Ihya.
It mentions another narration with the wording: ...is better than 80 years.

Those narrations are said to have weaknesses, so there's restrictions with regards to masa'il (unless clarified by ulama) but I've heard ulama use them for fadha'il (virtues) and encouragement, which is permissible.

Likewise, although, personally speaking, I feel more comfortable knowing what I'm doing and/or believing is backed up by some historical source.

Believe me, you won't get far by analyzing the asaneed of these Ahadith. I doubt if the persons there will be able to help either. It's a matter beyond most people's expertise. Trust me, save yourself the headache...

Go to this link:

www.islamibayanaat.com/MuntakhabAhadith.htm

I'll give you the chapter and Hadith number so that you can see the Ahadith for yourself.

Towards the end of the book, in the chapter of Da'wah and Tabligh - Virtues of Allah's Path:

Hadith# 78, 68, 61, 72 and 83

In the first chapter, Kalimah Tayyibah - Iman

Hadith # 14

Last narration is from Hayatus Sahabah, Vol. 1 page, 481-482 South African edition (by Mufti Afzal Husein Ilyas).

Brother New_Muslim, I was expecting you on MS. You can stay here because female members are very few in number and administration is much better than SF.

Please don't get me wrong- all these comparisons among efforts of Deen drain me. I planned long time back to consult some 'Ulama to prepare a manuscript which would represent the style of efforts of Sahabah رضي الله عنهم comprehensively so that readers could imagine a bigger picture of Deen and its development.

This thread is pushing me to start my work. InshaAllaah I'll consult principal of our Madrasah today.

At Targheeb wa' At Tarheeb ( Urdu- Al Basheeru wa'an Nazeeru) (P:532)

Hazrat Sahl Bin Muadh رضي الله عنه narrates that Rasulullah (saw) said that without doubt the reward for Salah.. Siyam (Fasting) and Zikr in the path of Allah is multiplied Seven Hundred times than spending wealth in the path of Allah. ( Abu Dawood)

[quote="Imam Ali"]4) Any du'a you make in the path of Allah is guaranteed to be accepted even more so if one was making du'a in Al-Haram or Al Nabwi?

P:534

Hazrat Ibn Umar رضي الله عنه narrates a saying of Rasulullah (saw) that striving in the path of Allah.. Haji.. and one who performs Umrah are amongst the delegations of Allah, whatever dua they make are accepted. (Ibn Majah, Sahih Ibn Habaan, Bahiqi,Nisai, Sahih Ibn Khuzaimah)

Shall attend to the remaining two questions when i find the Info إن شاء الله ..

duas..

I found something similar listed among fabricated hadiths in Post 4...

32 - One Hour of Contemplation is better than Sixty years of Worship. Fabricated; "Tanzeeh Al-Sharee'a" (2/305), "Al-Fawaid Al-Majmoo'a" (723), and "Tarteeb Al-Mawdoo'at" (964)

Yes, from what I read, the varrying narrations go from weak, very weak, fabrications to just a saying of the salaf.

The conclusion is merely speculative on my part as I haven't got the final say from the Mufti...

isnt the second narration specifically for jihad, as the arabic states 'ghazi fee sabilillah'?

as far as i know ghazi means warrior or fighter and is only used for a person who is actually physically fighting. or can ghazi be also used for someone who is not fighting, but 'struggling' or 'striving'?
