I hope I'm allowed to ask as it's not fiqh.

I've heard there's lots of bidah shirk kufr associated with sufis thats why I was hesitant to learn about it, but learnt there's both good and bad, take the good and leave the bad. Just happen to listen to the series on tasawuf by respected Mufti Abdur Rahman Ibn Yusuf, before listening to it I was afraid I might came across something which cause doubts but everything was comprehensible. Alhamdulillah.

I also read few articles here and there but I dunno much, I want to know more pls gimme link to authentic books, audio, video, or point me to any discussion around which help understand tassawuf.

Also, I've questions, Tijani Tariqah is considered deviant by Respected Ahmed sadiq Desai, here on pg. no. 7 Do all sunnis consider them deviants or is this just Mufti A.S. Desai?

This is a very sensitive topic and I'm the first to admit "I haven't got a clue". Therefore I strongly advise that you DONT go to sites that have not been confirmed or recommended by the "Brothers" on this site as they have better knowledge and are more trustworthy inshaAllah.

Mufti Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf is MashaAllah trustworthy and is always there to help.

I would once again strongly recommend that you only take advice from the senior members here.

This topic is sensitive and pray it doesn't derail.

Brother Muadh has done some great work on this in explaining much more on the topic.

Personally, I stay away to be safe and ONLY take from reliable sources.

Tassawuff is from Islam and Sunnah and in our times we have many people who are doing bad things like some Qur'aan teachers so we can't abandon Qur'aan can we? So Tassawuff is inherently part of Islam and due to a few bad apples we can't abandon Tassawuff.

Hafiz Sulaiman recommended this book to me, by Shaykh Zakariyya Khandelvi. Im still in the middle of reading it, but I would suggest you also take a look at it.

The first part of the book deals with fiqh, taqleed and ijtihaad, so if you want you can skip that part and go straight to chapter 8 insha'Allah.

On thing I forgot to ask, in his video respected Mufti Abdur Rahman talks about poem which was something like this If I remember, 'My heart is wine intoxicated with the love of god, cup bear is the spiritual guide, wine house is the religion of Islam'

I don't consider it kufr bid'ah shirk etc. but just one question that comes to mind, wine is apparently a bad thing so would it be fine to compare our religion with it? what's the reason sufi poets use such words?

Among the Sufiyyah, its used to refer to a state when a person loses his senses which may lead to unintentionally saying something contrary to Qur'an and Sunnah...as mentioned in the beginning of chapter 17 in the book arslan quoted above.

May Allah give the elders of Markaz Nizamuddin to revive the Tasawwuf which was practised in the Markaz until the demise of Hazratji Moulana In'amul Hasanرحمة الله عليه.Elder Tablighi Hazrat Qutubuddin Mullaرحمة الله عليه tried to revive the Tasawwuf in Tablighi Jamat by his book 'Tazkiyah wo Ihsan aur Akabir e Tabligh',but the book was not welcome in Tablighi circles.May Allah revive Tasawwuf in Tablighi Jamat once again,which was in it's principles.
