(salaam)

Have we ever wondered if we are helping others commit sin (minor and major).

We'd be surprised how we "are" doing this sort of thing daily in our lives. There's so many ways in which we help people get closer to Shirk, or even push them to doing it, yet it all seems normal to us, part of our daily life.

Think about it!

What, why, when, how are we doing these things?

What do you think that is going on daily in our lives where we are "urging" or innocently making others sin.

Recently we've been discussing Christmas cards/greetings, Hindu festivals, Valentines etc. By taking part in these or even helping out, selling these in our shops, and much much more, we are going totally against the verse of the Quran.

Some may say that it is being taken out of context, but the its there, however we want to take it.

Sahih International
O you who have believed, do not violate the rites of Allah or [the sanctity of] the sacred month or [neglect the marking of] the sacrificial animals and garlanding [them] or [violate the safety of] those coming to the Sacred House seeking bounty from their Lord and [His] approval. But when you come out of ihram, then [you may] hunt. And do not let the hatred of a people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Haram lead you to transgress. And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

Muhsin Khan
O you who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the Symbols of Allah, nor of the Sacred Month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlanded people or animals, etc. [Marked by the garlands on their necks made from the outer part of the tree-stems (of Makkah) for their security], nor the people coming to the Sacred House (Makkah), seeking the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. But when you finish the Ihram (of Hajj or 'Umrah), you may hunt, and let not the hatred of some people in (once) stopping you from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.

Pickthall
O ye who believe! Profane not Allah's monuments nor the Sacred Month nor the offerings nor the garlands, nor those repairing to the Sacred House, seeking the grace and pleasure of their Lord. But when ye have left the sacred territory, then go hunting (if ye will). And let not your hatred of a folk who (once) stopped your going to the inviolable place of worship seduce you to transgress; but help ye one another unto righteousness and pious duty. Help not one another unto sin and transgression, but keep your duty to Allah. Lo! Allah is severe in punishment.

Yusuf Ali
O ye who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the symbols of Allah, nor of the sacred month, nor of the animals brought for sacrifice, nor the garlands that mark out such animals, nor the people resorting to the sacred house, seeking of the bounty and good pleasure of their Lord. But when ye are clear of the sacred precincts and of pilgrim garb, ye may hunt and let not the hatred of some people in (once) shutting you out of the Sacred Mosque lead you to transgression (and hostility on your part). Help ye one another in righteousness and piety, but help ye not one another in sin and rancour: fear Allah: for Allah is strict in punishment.

Shakir
O you who believe! do not violate the signs appointed by Allah nor the sacred month, nor (interfere with) the offerings, nor the sacrificial animals with garlands, nor those going to the sacred house seeking the grace and pleasure of their Lord; and when you are free from the obligations of the pilgrimage, then hunt, and let not hatred of a people-- because they hindered you from the Sacred Masjid-- incite you to exceed the limits, and help one another in goodness and piety, and do not help one another in sin and aggression; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is severe in requiting (evil).

Dr. Ghali
O you who have believed, do not violate the way marks of Allah, nor the Inviolable Month, nor the offering, nor the garlands, nor the ones repairing to the Inviolable Home seeking from their Lord Grace and all-blessed Satisfaction; and when you are not on pilgrimage, (Literally: when you have become legally permissible, i.e., no longer in the sanctified state of a pilgrim) then (go game) hunting. And do not let antagonism of a people who barred you from the Inviolable Mosque provoke you to transgress. And help one another to benignancy and piety, and do not help one another to vice and hostility, and be pious to Allah; surely Allah is strict in punishment.

Sisters,

Islam provides holistic solutions so segregation alone is only partially the solution but what is needed is:

  1. Segregation
  2. Providing all the support to ensure that segregated lifestyle, education and work places work and thrive
  3. Solid Islamic Dawah and propagation of Sunnah
  4. Cutting off all ways to evil and enticements for gender relations
  5. Encouraging and making it easy for people to get married early
  6. Providing all the support to ensure that early marraiges work and succeed

Once upon a time you (Ottomans) made it happen for the Ummah. Women were edcuated and thrived without free-mixing and that was our Glory days, today both men and women are "free" and yet we fail!

Short term, in my opinion the most important thing for us to do in our times is to get people married!   This alone will help avoid a lot of problems...

I was asked by someone recently that them being a minicab driver, were they allowed to drive people to night clubs knowing what they were going to there and then even pick them up because they would be out of their mind.

I told him what I thought and explained that I wasn't qualified to answer his query, so I sent him a Fatwa from the MS app. But did that change anything, no, because money had to be earned and life had to go on, even if it meant disobeying the commands of Allah.

We cant help anyone, be it Muslim or non-Muslim in doing anything wrong. It can be helping to reach a bottle of beer to selling them Christmas cards. If it is against the law of Allah and we help others in doing it, then we loose!

If a shop keeper is selling Valentines cards, he is helping the non-Muslims promote a national "Satanic" day. And the list can go on and on!

Sister,

You are discussing two separate issues here.

  • Issue 1: To the best of my knowledge and understaning it is natural for men and women to need each other's company and there is nothing else (Islamically or morally valid) except marraige.
  • Issue 2: Your second issue is why are so many marriages failing so I agree with your concerns that something should be done

But you can't ban driving by saying that if you drive you will have an accident. The proper course of action is to teach people how to drive properly and NOT BAN driving although there will always be accidents but we need to minimise the accidents as much as possible.

So there will always be divorces but we should try to minimise them as much as possible.
