Okay.

Now I noticed above you wrote: "we shouldn't take narrations at face value"

I read hurriedly so It seemed me you wrote "we should take narrations at face value".

Sorry for misunderstanding.

@my sister maria. Ask the Mufti Sahab whose mail i gave you..
He is from Musjid Bait Us Salam. was bait to Maulana Hakeem Akhtar Sahab till he passed away from this dunya. May Allah be pleased with him.

Its better if you stick to one mufti sahab when yoi have to ask a question.

My Sister maria... Do you really really think that you are that strong that you can follow Mufti A.S Desai Sahabs answrs?

You're right. That's the key. Shar'i reason. If one has doubts whether certain actions is Gheebah or not should first remain silent. Not do the Gheebah then inquire whether it's Gheebah or not. Inquire first.

[quote=Imam Ali"]I meant you decide which, Ulema or fatwa you choose to follow once all the evidence is before you.

How qualified are you to determine which evidence is stronger or better to follow? Is the choice from academic superiority or simply personal preference (Nafs)? If you are qualified enough to know which is better to accept then why approach the Ulamaa in the first place to get multiple opinions in order to choose one? This is not our way, this is the way of the Ahl-e-Hadeeth

Asalamualaikum Maulana Yasin.

I'm a layperson and hardly qualified. It'd be based on academic superiority strictly speaking, but I ask for explanations and clarification not just closed yes/no or halal/haram answers. Even amongst our own scholars there are varied interprerations of narrations regarding many walks of life. For example after posting this thread, I've consulted two Ulema I regularly keep in touch as to what gheebah means and it's different to the thoughts of the two Muftis who Maria asked. I asked some brothers here first because they take a while to response, understandably so.

I always thought the way of the Salafis aka Ah-le-Hadith is they just make up their own mind and hardly rely on opinios from classical scholars.

Brother,

Please change/edit this word.

Hadeeth is the saying/action/approval of our Nabi (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) and our Islamic integrity should NOT allow this word to be ridiculed no matter how we disagree with the people.

Call them "Ghair-Muqallid" because they don't approve Taqleed!

You're right brother. That was quite brainless from me.

Edited and sorry if I offended anyone. I seek refuge from Allah.

I think I understand this, If you have doubts and for the sake of clarification you ask cos you think it will help remove doubts then you can ask the Ulamah.
Because when you see there are difference of opinions among the Ulamah even in the same madh-hab thats not strange if a layman gets confused as to what he should follow.

I just read the following part from your post:
"Firstly, it is wrong to use Mariah Al-Qibtiyyah (radhiyallahu anha) as an e-mail address. She was the Consort of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). By using her name as an e-mail address, you are showing disrespect to Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). We trust that you will change your e-mail address.''

answer sent by respected mufti a.s?

how is that disrespect?
so is abubakr@whateva disrespect to the prophet too?
what about the hadeeth "a person will be those whom he loves (yawmal qiyaamah)"

some of the answers I've read in this thread and other recent threads from this mufti are astonishing. almost everything in life is haraam somehow.

Please find out for me why it's disrespect. I have one of my favorite ppl in my email address so am I disrespecting the prophet too because this person's name is also linked to our Prophet (saw)?

Sister,

Restrain yourself from firing questions which just appear to be confusing you even further.

  1. If you have chosen your email address as a sign of love, respect and devotion to Sayyida Maria (RA) there is nothing wrong with it and carry on
  2. Islamic forums aren't Haram as I explained to you that if your posting and Shaykh (Mufti) Abu Hajira (HA) replying with 10,000 people publicly witnessing the exchange is Haram then you corresponding secretly (without witness) with a Na-Mehram is DOUBLY HARAM!
  3. What the Brother has done in this scenario isn't fundamentally Gheebah and if you disagree move on with it because its action and if its case and your scenario please act on the Fatwa (which you see fit)

This is just written to ease your confusion if you want to carry on firing questions please continue.

Jzk
