Any idea who this Maulana Ahmed Javed sahab (Iqbal Academy) is from Pakistan..? someone posted about him on google plus saying he was the greatest Alim deen.. philosopher.. Epistemiologist.. Shaikh e Tareeqat.. greatest Mutakallim of kalam..etc.. This Ahmed Javed sahab and Javed Ahmed Ghamdi are two different people.. former is with beard and the latter beardless..

I saw a youtube video of his on Tazkiyah.. Have trouble with my radar clearing him.. can someone help..? (dont bother about Ghamdi, guy is a deviant)

Never heard of him. He isn't well known Deobandi or Salafi or Jamaat-e-Islami and I have been reading Tanzeem for years and never heard of him so he isn't Tanzeem-e-Islami either (at least not well known).

Asked a question if he is Tanzeem-e-Islami as he sounds very similar in outlook and yet I have never heard of him or his Bayan or his writings....

I have spent a few hours listening to him and he is a Philosopher, not a Scholar  by any stretch of imagination. Also listened to his Darse-Masnavi and its philosophical interpretation listen to this:

Warning: If someone tries to listen to this guy they will fall asleep!

السلام عليكم

I listened to his talk on Tazkiya .. and Yes he is a philosopher and Not a Shaikh of Tasawwuf else what he meant using that verbal roller coaster was ' When someone subdues their Nafs, it may counter attack through the Kibr of Piousness'
a single sentence..plain and simple..

And neither he is a scholar as u rightly said..

such Intellectual flowery seems to grip people these days.. and then they become Pied Pipers with their own following.. Akram Aawan is another side of such coin where Kashf takes the center stage....

As rightly said by a brother on SF

Quote:
There is a particular creed of "Intellectual Sufi,s" in Pakistan.Ahmad Rafiq, the author of 'KAHE FAQEER' ( forgetting his name now), Mumtaz Mufti,....and upto some extent Ishtiaq Ahmad and Qudratullah Shehab, are included in the list.Although I would reserve my comments about Marhoom Qudratullah Shehab and Ishtiaq Ahmad,....I have to say the Tassawuf of this group is based only on intellectual Romanticism.

They are either interested to discuss the philosophical aspects of Tassawuf or else the TAKWINI NIZAM,for both they have their own interpretations, not based on any solid knowledge of the subject....but what suits them best.

Ahmed Javed Sahab is Director @ Iqbal Academy Pakistan. He is a philosopher, writer, poet and Sufi (in Naqshbandi and Chishti school). I personally know him for last 3 decades. He is one of the most muttaqi people I have seen in my life time. A very simple and humble person. Yes, when he talks it is hard for an average person like me to understand because of his high level of Urdu vocabulary and philosophical approach. But he always explain it to audience to make sure that the listener understands what he is saying. He never claimed that he is scholar in field of Islamic sciences. He has no association with any political or religious group. He does not like to advertise him. He has influenced few hundred people around him.

He practice in his life what he says. I would conclude my opinion by saying that it is blessing to stay around a person like him.

That's good to know, but is there anything else. We hardly know anything of you too, I've known you for 3 minutes (online) and you've known him for 3 decades, how can we simply take your word just like that. The question now would be, who are you and what school do you come from waghera waghera.....

Sure you won't mind my approach, just being careful :)

I also stumbled upon this Hazrat in the past. It would be nice to know about his (spiritual) teachers or influences.

I realize I'm a little late but there is much correction needed in this thread.

I know Ahmad Javaid sahib personally and he is a scholar as well as a philosopher. To be certain Maulana Ahmad Javaid sahib studied his "dars" under Maulana Ayub Dehlvi (a renowned scholar of India) who was a friend and student of Maulana Hasan Ahmad Madni. Ahmad Javaid sahib was Maulana Ayub's favorite pupil and was delegated many duties by Maulana Ayub. Similarly Ahmad Javaid sahib completed his studies of Persian under the student of Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri.

Ahmad Javaid sahib is also an official shaykh of the Naqshbandi order, and has affiliations with the Chisti and Mevlevi orders. He is a Hanafi, but does not subscribe to modern Deobandi view on Islam. He holds Imam Abu Yusuf and Imam Mohammad in a very high regard, alongside giving great credence to Imam Fakhruddin ar-Razi (author of Tafsir-e-Kabir). Ahmad Javaid sahib especially likes Tafsir-e-Kabir but holds opinions against the Tareekhs of Tabari and Ibn Ishaq favouring the Tareekh of Ibn Khuldun. For these reasons he if often at odds with the mass population of Muftis who have reduced Islam to dogma. He favors the Usul of tafsir as presented by Imam Razi, and favors the state as described by Ibn Khuldun and Abu Yusuf in his Treatise on Taxation and Fiscal Policy.

In Philosophy, Ahmad Javaid sahib is an epidemiological Kantian, and holds the Critique of Pure Reason of Immanuel Kant in very high regard. He has read Hegel, Heidegger, Plato and many other Western philosophers. He has also studied Christian theology by reading Aquinas, Augustine, Scottus, Anselm, and Eickheart among others.

He has also edited many works of Ibn Arabi (having read the complete Futuhat e Makkiya) as well as giving lectures on Imam Malik's Muwatta. He has lectured on Rumi, on Farridudin Attar. He has also written poetry is both Urdu and Persian.

There is much to be learnt from this great man.

Moulana seems to be a nice person EXCEPT that he speaks very difficult Urdu. It becomes hard to differentiate right from wrong. Not that I could differentiate even if he was speaking in simple day to day Urdu :)
