New Delhi, 18 Jan 2014: Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer (National President) of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, on Saturday condoled the passing away of great community figure and religious leader Maulana Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin and termed his demise as a great loss for the community. He prayed to Almighty to pardon him and grant him higher places in the paradise. The Bohra leader passed away in Mumbai on Friday.

In a press statement here today, Ameer-e Jamaat said Dr. Burhanuddin in his long life silently led the Bohra community on religious issues and rendered great services in the field of education and social service. His area of social work spread over several countries. Along all the activities, he had been in good contact with leaders of the Millat, said Maulana Umari.

Ameer-e Jamaat also expressed grief over the death of 18 people in stampede early Saturday morning outside the house of the Bohra leader where tens of thousands of mourners had assembled to pay their last tribute. Maulana Umari prayed to Almighty for their maghfirat and speedy recovery of the injured.

What is the general ruling on the different strands of the Isma'ili Shi'as viz. the Aga Khanis (Nizari), Dawudi Bohra? Are they Ahl al-Bid'ah or kafir?

Question #10604 - 18/01/2014

Question

Asalamualaikum Can you please explain who are the dawoodi bohras? What is their belief or aqeedha?

Answer

They are Kafirs. They are a sub-group of the shias. In some matters they are worse than the shias.

And Allah Knows Best

If Ulama give condolences to people like Mandela, then I guess it has its advantages and is not unIslamic. But when they start doing it for False Islamic leaders, then that is highly questionable.

Pathetic state of affairs indeed.

Why are we (not pointing any fingers) always trying to be politically correct when it affects our Imaan?

On this occasion of the passing away of Mr.Nelson Mandela, the ulama-e-soo' and some other modernist juhala are causing great Imaani havoc by flagrantly transgressing the limits of the Shariah in the act of condolence. They have descended into the dregs of kufr with their eulogies. Some of those who are guilty of the eulogies of kufr are Reverend Abraham Bham of the NNB Jamiat, Darush Shaitaan, the MJC, the Media Network and the Temple of Quds. This last body of miscreants has exceeded all bounds of kufr.

The Shariah grants permission for only condolences, not for obituaries and eulogies. While it is permissible to condole with the bereaved family, composing eulogies is haraam. Making dua is haraam. Presenting funeral flowers is haraam. Participating in funeral and burial services is haraam. It is only permissible to send condolence to the bereaved family - condolence minus any eulogy. Any other act pertaining to funeral and burial service besides condolence, is haraam. This is the limit of the Shariah. Those who transgress the limits of the Shariah, are warned in the Qur'aan Majeed:

"These are the prescribed limits of Allah. Whoever transgresses the limits of Allah, verily he has oppressed his soul."

"Remember ME (ALLAH), and I shall remember you. Be grateful Unto Me and do not commit kufr. O People of Imaan! Seek aid (from Allah) with Sabr and Salaat. Verily Allah is with the Saabireen."

Jazakallah respected Guest-3352.

That is exactly what I had said. "Giving Condolences" Nothing more, nothing less.

But not to/for these Kuffar Supposed Muslims!

The fitnah during the last times will rise from the Ulema.

Heard mufti Menk mention it somewhere and it's very true especially after reading the above.

From my interaction with JI workers, I know about their preferences. They are highly fantasized by Shi'ite kuffar's activities. They refer to Iran as a "Muslim superpower"! They are nothing but a bunch of chameleons.
