I got sent this screen shot (from another HTC One user)

The message portrayed in here is correct (by the Maulana) yet at the same time many will say there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Why?

(salaam)

Sorry, but the shaykh is making an assumption. The musalli may be following the Imam's qira'ah on his phone (i.e. Qur'an app). I've seen people do this during taraweeh.

The fiqhi discussion regarding this is a separate issue, but we definitely should not assume that he's just playing angry birds while in salah.

Jazakallah, exactly what I was hoping someone would say.

We can't just jump to conclusions. In others schools of thought, this is permitted.

What would someone say to me if I said that I eat dead meat? Don't assume, think! Why would I say I eat dead meat, in fact I love it and would have it every day.

Jazakallah brother Arsalan.

Pretty sad situation we've gotten into these days.

I eat dead meat, (not slaughtered) so I'm sure someone will have a few things to say to me.

But what if I sent a season greetings card a couple of days before Easter, would my intention be that it's not for Easter, rather just for the bank holidays. Could I justify it?

I think it's easier for me to justify my eating of dead meat than sending a seasonal greetings card.

Khair, let's not get into that debate, brother Muadh has got a great blog on it already, so you may see that.

My point is that we shouldn't jump to conclusions, else someone finds something in us that truly does need to be stopped.

By the way, I am serious about the juicy dead meat, very tasty.

Unfortunately the HMC in the UK will not certify this as Halal, yet I will be adamant and eat it.

Shaykh hafizahullah tweeted another pic about a person leading salah while seated. Afaik, it's allowed in the Shafi madhab.
I thinh he's looking at things from a purely Hanafi perspective.

Allah سبحانه وتعالى grant us the ability to see good in everything. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى protect us from the evil habit of judging others, may He safeguard us and keep us in a positive state at all times, and also protect us from being unjustly judged. Aameen.
