Well, we should at least try to recite it everyday. There have been people in the salaf who used to send thousands of durood on the Prophet (s.a.w.) everyday. Not all of us have that time, but 40 durood a day is a good start, and I dont think its asking for too much insha'Allah.

I remember we used to have a "one-thousand durood" thread on SF where members encouraged one another to recite 1,000 durood in 24 hours. Good times...
