Sister,

Your signature talks about beneficial knowledge, tell me how does it benefit you to know about Wahabees and their doings? Will Allah (SWT) question you about it on the day of judgement?

Because it is affecting my friends, neighbours, fellows praying next to me at the Masjid. Email queries WhatsApp messages, texts, face to face discussions, letters And many of these people are approaching me because they are confused, frustrated and can't get anywhere.

Many of these end may up saying "Good-bye" to Sunnah and maybe Islam from what they witness OR many of them do end saying "Good-bye" to Taqleed and Madhabs.

The Salafees have no magic wand in their possession online or in real life but they have a strong ally in our incompetent brothers and sisters and our failing institutes.

Some may have the strength or character or moral courage to agree OR emotional baggage of Sufees to disagree because it goes against their Hazrats.

It is fantastic, brilliant and a blessing of Allah (SWT) to be Sufi.

It is abysmal, a failing and a blessing of Shaytaan to be "Hazrat Worshipper"

Assalamu'alaikum.

It concerns me. I learnt my early Islam [good or bad] from wahabis/salafis/Ahlul Hadith/gair muqallid when I didn't know much about sects; I thought it be only one true path to Jannah. Then came across deobuni and afterwords lots of sects; got confused between deobundi and salafi.

I learnt a lot of my Islam from SF. I've no longer any doubts that salafis' concept of shirk and bidah is false!! I've got the feelings that I'm growing accustomed to deobundiat but I dunno many things, I do have doubts about many things specially about my salah but trying to stick to hanafi fiqh. I'm reading from anti-wahabi site so that the doubts I've are really doubts' then it should be removed. Perhaps I should stick only and only to mainstream scholars but what about my doubts!?

I don't have curiosity to know [but maybe a little bitter]. I know (unfortunately) I don't have the zeal for learning cos I do feel bored and tiresome while reading long long articles and books, but I do have fikr that what if I end up following false path of Islam.

You all know your Islam and If dunno maybe cos of lack of understanding skills or not being able to decide the very very true path to Islam, then you tell me what is my fault!?

By Allah, If I want to keep reading from anti-wahabi site and wanna know about wahabism thats not just cos of some ego trip, it's just that I don't feel like I should stop myself from knowing about wahabism or otherwise it's hard for me anyway.

A few times I had been in the habit of asking about matters which doesn't benefit me, but now I don't see why I'd like to know something which doesn't benefit me in my "Immediate" life!

with respects.

I ve been through this phase before. Initially when I started reading about Islam, I used to concentrate on the controversies and sects and debates. But then I realized, I don't even know the basic Fiqh. So I slowly started turning away from the controversies.

But as you said, don't lose the zeal to attain knowledge. I too have been lazy nowadays. Make dua for me.

P.s. Please don't use the same ID for different forums and websites. People will recognize you easily. I saw a comment under a youtube video, someone replying to your same ID asking if you were from sunniforum. Thats the problem with using same ID. There are lots of stalkers in the internet, so be careful, use different usernames for different forums/websites.

Wasalaam.

I know where you are coming from and I 100% agree that your doubts should be allowed to be aired for people (of knowledge) to answer and if it can't be then it should be escalated to Ulamah (who can), your doubts shouldn't be discouraged or bottled up. This is the advice of Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA).

The problem is that SF Sisters are mostly Sufi so their approach is to advise you to be connected to a Shaykh so Magical Reformation can occur within you. Most of the times life doesn't work like that.

I've mentioned this website before, but ReliableFatwas (mostly of Maulana A.S. Desai) has many articles on the errors of Salafism and Barelwism. This article I found was quite interesting, compiled from various sources by the Admin of the site. The book The Deviation of the Salafis is also a short and simple refutation of Salafis, as well as Barelwis, by Maulana A.S. Desai.

The Admin of the site I mentioned earlier has also compiled this collection of some biographical information about Maulana Sahib. I suppose that's only to allow you to understand the context of his fataawaa and his status in the eyes of other `Ulamaa'.

At the same time, I agree with Muadh Bhai that we should focus on beneficial knowledge. Although it's important to know these things, we shouldn't obsess over them. We are extremely deficient in knowledge about basic things like masaa-il of Salaat and Tahaarat.

Forgive me for any errors above.

Its time for you to get independent and build your Islamic knowledge from ground up. Just like I am pretty sure that you manage your life absolutely fine you can manage your Islam pretty much fine as well without any need for interventions.

Work from the group up and build yourself.

Made me think. Thought hard about it. The main thing is that most of times I can't decide with 100% certainty that whether some religious issue is right or wrong.
