Next time, in promulgating your esoteric cogitations, or articulating your superficial sentimentalities and amicable, philosophical or psychological observations, beware of platitudinous ponderosity.

Let your conversational communications possess a clarified conciseness, a compacted comprehensibleness, coalescent consistency, and a concatenated cogency.

Eschew all conglomerations of flatulent garrulity, jejune babblement, and asinine affectations.

Let your extemporaneous descantings and unpremeditated expatiations have intelligibility and veracious vivacity, without rodomontade or thrasonical bombast.

Sedulously avoid all polysyllabic profundity, pompous prolixity, psittaceous vacuity ventriloquial verbosity, and vaniloquent vapidity.

Shun double-entendres, prurient jocosity, and pestiferous profanity, obscurant or apparent!!

In other words, talk plainly, briefly, naturally, sensibly, truthfully, purely.

Keep from slang; don't put on airs; say what you mean; mean what you say. And, don't use big words!"

Please take a break and breath in between whilst reading the long words in the posts before somebody starts suffering from
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

We may need to call doctor sahib (umar123)...and you know what that's going to be like....he's going to turn up with his Lego set :-)

Did you know that 'Longest' word has 189,819 letters, takes three hours to pronounce

Halalified YT Audio

A man has been recorded spending more than three hours to pronounce what is supposedly the longest word in the English language.

'Methionylthreonylthreonylglutaminylarginyl...isoleucine' is the chemical name of 'titin' (also known as 'connectin') - the largest known protein. It has 189,819 letters.

However, in the past it has been disputed whether or not it is a real word - proteins are named after the chemicals involved in making them.

The longest word in the Oxford English Dictionary is 'pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis' at 45 letters long.

'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious', made famous by Mary Poppins, is 34 letters long.

The longest word was too big to fit into a spoiler and even if I split it into 5 spoilers, it still didn't work.

I've removed the long word.

Sorry folks... I really don't like the idea of penalizing people for the way they use language. We're all quite different and language is much more flexible than we're willing to accept.

Please don't restrict members too much... the exception is foul language and rudeness (unless deliberately trying to stop the opposite gender from light banter).

Voil!

in View, a humble Vaudevillian Veteran, cast Vicariously as both Victim and Villain by the Vicissitudes of Fate. This Visage, no mere Veneer of Vanity, is a Vestige of the Vox populi, now Vacant, Vanished. However, this Valorous Visitation of a bygone Vexation stands Vivified, and has Vowed to Vanquish these Venal and Virulent Vermin Vanguarding Vice and Vouchsafing the Violently Vicious and Voracious Violation of Volition!

The only Verdict is Vengeance-- a Vendetta, held as a Votive-- not in Vain, for the Value and Veracity of such shall one day Vindicate the Vigilant and the Virtuous. [ Chuckling]

Verily, this Vichyssoise of Verbiage Veers most Verbose, so let me simply add that it's my Very good honor to meet you, and you may call me V.
