Reciting Durood

…the heart, qalb, is that piece of flesh whose nature is to turn. The Arabic word is derived from qalaba, which means to turn, to change, transform and transmute. Qalb is the spiritual inner faculty. The focal point that houses two of the many important qualities that determine our deeds and actions, Iman and Taqwa. If this receptacle is blocked, or fixated on being attached to anything, its capacity to ‘turn’ is limited, and thus too is our ability to function at our best as slaves our Rabb Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. Turn…turn…turn…to Him and His Habib SallAllahu laihi wasallam…

 A secret turning in us makes the universe turn.

Head unaware of feet, and feet head. Neither cares.

They keep turning. ^

…A believer is like budding grain: whichever way the wind blows, it sways, and when the wind stops it straitens upright: he bends with affliction. And a wicked man is like a massive cedar, standing aloft until Allah breaks it asunder and He wills…*

…the patient pauper is worthier than the grateful rich man, and the grateful pauper is worthier than either. As for the pauper who is both patient and grateful, he is worthier than any of them…Shaykh ‘Abd Al-Qadir Al-Jilani Rahmatullahi alaihi…

…All that is good for the true believers resides in the patience of one hour…*

…whoever does not appreciate the blessings by having them, will appreciate it by losing them…Ibn ‘Ata Illah Rahmatullahi alaihi…

…If someone loves his life in this world, he devalues his life in the Hereafter, and if someone loves his life in the Hereafter, he devalues his life in this world. You must therefore prefer what is lasting to that which is fleeting…*

…How wondrous is the state of the believer, for all that happens to him is good. If good befalls him, he shows gratitude, and it is best for him. And if ill befalls him, he shows patience, and it is best for him…*

 Knock, And He’ll open the door

Vanish, And He’ll make you shine like the sun

Fall, And He’ll raise you to the heavens

Become nothing, And He’ll turn you into everything. ^
