Assalaamu 'Alaykum

Can anyone either explain or direct to other sources regarding the status of Marwan and his Hakam ibn Abi 'l-'As.

I am aware that Marwan was expelled from Madinah by Nabi ('alayh al-salam) and that during the khilafat of 'Uthman (RA) he was allowed to return.

Any information on his status and his activities - especially during the khilafat of 'Uthman and after his assassination - would be appreciated.

To add, what book would members recommend to read on the history of the Ummayad khilafat without a Rawafidh or Nawasib bias?

Jazak Allah khayr

Any recommendations on books concerning the history of the Umayyads? Has Dr. 'Ali al-Sallabi written anything in this regard?

Also, anything on the OP?

السلام عليكم

Dr M Sallabi has written something on it but exactly what as I don't know, but it does say in one of his books that I'm currently reading that he has written on the Umayyad State etc

Another book to check out is History of Islam, only problem is its pretty brief about most things including Marwan.
