following a tareeqa is just a way of trying to reach ihsan and get guided by a shaykh to reach a high level and be a very serious muslim. you can still be muslim without having a shaykh guiding you to purifying your heart

JUST a way, you say? Just A way?

Are you trying to say there are other ways as well? Are you a wasabi?

He is a Kebabi, loves his Kebabs is that ok or does it compromise his Islam in anyway?

Do you have any recommendations on a Tareeqa he can join while being a Kebabi?

You forgot the branches. The Kebebai Tareeqa can be

Kebabi-Beefi
Kebabi-Muttoni

And the Bidatees which are Kebabi-Chickeni which you might want to avoid as they have innovated beyond reason

Supporting political activist or politicians because they may help advance the muslim cause, is in no way accepting or supporting their religious ideology or moral views. If I consider Mehdi Hassan a friend, or even share a platform with him, does that mean I share his religious views? He has done far more than most to defend the Muslims in the UK than many of our Ulemah, who are probably still discussing if TV is halal or haraam. It may not look it, but i seriously have the utmost respect for our Ulemah, but unfortunately if they don't step up to the plate, then what alternatives do we have? Who are we suppose to support politically, those who want to ban the face viel, or those who sympathies with the cause of the muslims.

In terms of the accusations, predominantly by neo-madkhalis, he has answered most of them, including the controversy about the preservation of the Quran.

Wobbler always cracks me up.

Especially when a mature, educated, adult uses it unironically in an Islamic talk. Makes himself look stupid.

Seriously...?

Supporting and endorsing individuals who are radically promoting things contrary to Islam.

Is a support for the mainstreaming of those views.

What you think the youth see when their favourite Shaykh is praising such deviant individuals and having selfies taken with them...? They youth have seen this as a wholesale endorsement.

Whatsmore these same individuals use the selfies and posts by these Shaykhs as an endorsement and it helps them further their nefarious agenda.

There is no benefit in supporting individuals who make speeches condemning Islamophobia. When those same individuals are promoting deviancy within the muslim community and corrupting the Imaan of our future generations.

So far you have posted one twitter post by Shiekh Yasir Qadhi, hardly 'wholesale endorsement' and provided little evidence as to your accusations of modernism (Most topics of where he is controversial, are not for the lay people and should be discussed amongst the Ulemah themselves). Please answer my initial question, name me one instance where he has sacrficed the Sunnah over Western Liberal values. I ask because if he has done so then I will re-evaluate my position.

Ps. If people are stupid enough to take their religion from politicians, political activist or social media influencers, then that is firtly a poor indictment on them and the Ulemah who have failed to engage with them.
