Okay so this is another.... Yes! yet ANOTHER thread regarding SF. Im sorry, really i am but i can't think of anywhere else to post.

Just to put everyone in the picture; A little while ago, a 'sunniforum section' was made on MS as an extra-hospitable gesture ot acknowledgement and sympathy to all the lost SF'ers. Its only visible to those who are subscribed.

Now you see what happened was the MS committee (rightly) decided that in order to avoid any possibility of unnecessary gender-interaction fitna arising due to the nature of certain threads in the SF section, it ideally should not be co-ed. And so, mistakenly they evicted the WRONG gender group. Instead of telling the brothers to push off, they told the sisters to. What a mix up!!!

Just kidding! they never evicted us, only very politely requested us to request to be unsubscribed, if we so wish... I did, hence im no longer subscribed.

Now i just want to remind everyone about how the ansaar helped the muhaajir when they arrived im madina munawwara. They gave them everything. Some went to the extent of giving half their wealth and even half their families. Wow!! We're not asking for your money (plz keep it with the greatest of pleasure), we're not asking for your family (plz take good care of them), ALL we asking for is a smalll, tiiiiny, little 'SISTERS ONLY' section on MS. I know there are only a few sisters, but lets look at quality above quantity, if you know what i mean.

If it can't be done, no problem. Its perfectly understandable as this is not an instruction/command, just a humble request. Jazakallahu Khair!

I agree with you - at least for ex-SFers who were already in the SF sister's section (voice verified).

As you rightfully mentioned it was a small request to which those who accepted, Alhumdulillah accepted.

I won't call it a brothers section at all, that's not correct.

We did consider having a dedicated sisters section but that would mean it would still be visible by at least Admin which means it wouldn't be a dedicated sisters section.

That's right. It will not be a "Sisters Only" category as I will have access so it's simply not possible. But you are free to request your own group which was offered for various purposes.

The private groups are not moderated as such with any forum rules. Just basic moderating. The private groups are always viewable to admins

JazakAllah khayran for the offer for a private group and in-house moderating but I'll pass unless we can think of a specific reason for it. I was tempted not to accept the other invite and then tempted to remove myself until I got caught up in mission impossible... now that I'm free again, I think this is safer. Alhamdulillah.

I'm sure all the sisters will agree. No sisters section, no private section. Everything must be monitored islamically. Saving ourselves from fitnah or even getting anywhere near it.

If anything needs to be discussed in private, then sisters can PM other sisters (as long as the gender is specific and that you have enough posts to your name) once that is done then you may exchange what ever you wish inshaAllah. As long as it's halal.

Oh i see... So its impossible to have an 'sisters only' facility. Yes, PMing is always a great option alhamdulillah, but its not the same as having a complete room where sisters can just relax without any humpty dumpties around ;)

But my opinion is that, if it were to go ahead (i.e. private section) then there must always be senior members available at all times as authorizers. Otherwise

There will be a great fall, and we will have to come and pick up all the pieces!

We don't wish to create more work for the limited Authorizers as it is!

Also, there will be many things being discussed, that could be more than beneficial to the public in general, so those things would be better in the open.

actually brother AM; the sisters section at SF worked so well because there were no humpty dumpties (I meant brothers) interfering with any discussions! in the open they butt in where they shouldn't and anyway in the open we sisters can never be relaxed enough to discuss things openly..

I agree with you sister.

When I see things like people interfering, then it annoys me too. Hence, I've asked you to PM admin. It would also be beneficial if we had you back as an Authorizer, even if it was for that section. At leastit would put us at ease in the knowledge that you and sister taalibah are there taking care of things. If it was sister taalibah on her own, it won't be easy.

But please do remember why you gave up your position, you becam every busy etc etc.

Also remember that admin will still have access to that section.

Please refer to www.muftisays.com/forums/23-registered-users--announcemen... for information about requesting a private group. This isn't something new, the option has always been there and there are already 4 private groups.

Once you've checked the above thread, you may reply there with the request by providing the 3 things in the first post
