Question: Assalamualakum Respected Mufti Is it permissible to give vaccines to children? These vaccines do contain haraam ingredients.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, one may take medication containing haram ingredients only if it is recommended by a trustworthy Muslim doctor and he assures that there are no halāl alternatives.[1] The same ruling applies for vaccines containing haram ingredients.
