As salaamu alaii kumm,

Did you know that you could navigate MS through keyboard shortcuts ?!

I think MS is the first Islamic forum or forums altogether to have this feature...

A lemon tea toast to the keyboard shortcut idea and the person who came up with it. Chaai-rs !!

Shortcuts save a lot of time..

Some shortcuts:

Ctrl + P to go to People's Say section

Ctrl + B to go to Books

SHIFT + 6 to go to TOP of the page

I believe there are some more...(mods kindly do the needful)

Jazakallah. It's not fully tested still. For example, do a quick reply and try to type the following character ^ (shift+6)

So not properly working yet but it's not difficult to combine.

Can everyone suggest all the shortcuts they'd like.

CTRL shortcuts will be best and try it first because because some may already be default shortcuts on browsers or OS.

e.g.
CTRL + X = cut
CTRL + C = copy

So we want to avoid those - I think ALT + Key might be the best options

Once all the suggestions are received, I'll update it all at once

To start off (not active yet):
Alt + I = inbox
Alt + P = people's say
Alt + S = Sharing portal
Alt + B = Books
Alt + M = Multimedia category

Okay I couldn't make up mind on what key does what and as it wasn't working 100% in a few cases, I did the next best thing...

Assign your own keys to any page you want however you want.

User Control Panel > Preferences > Hotkeys

Alt+r = www.muftisays.com/forums/specialforums.html?special=recent

PM Inbox
Alt+p = www.muftisays.com/forums/pm.html

Forum main page i.e. Home
Alt+h = www.muftisays.com/forums/index.html

As salaam,

Wallah, it works!

My Hot keys:

Alt + s for sharing poirtal
Alt + i for inbox
Alt + p for people's say
Alt + b for books
Alt + l for the light side

i tried something else too, a hot key that links to a page, so...

Alt + r is for the /random thread
