Israel warns Syria to halt attacks after exchange of fire in the Golan Heights

JERUSALEM - In blunt language marking a turn away from diplomatic caution, Israel warned the Syrian government Tuesday that it "would suffer the consequences" if it continued to press attacks, hours after Syrian and Israeli troops exchanged fire along the cease-fire line in the occupied Golan Heights.
After an Israel Defense Forces jeep was hit by machine-gun fire from a Syrian military post on the cease-fire line, a potential flash point for spillover from Syria's civil war, Israel "returned pinpoint fire at the source," an Israeli military spokesman said.

Israeli defense officials said Israel responded with a short-range, antitank Spike missile.
"We will not allow the area of the Golan Heights to turn into an easy target for Syrian attacks," said Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Benny Gantz. "Last night, Syrian positions fired three times while we were patrolling along the border fence. We've had enough," said Gantz, addressing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. "We are seeing things happening in Syria - the transfer of military equipment, Assad issuing warnings, talking, leading and encouraging the expansion of actions against the state of Israel at various levels, including the Golan Heights."
If Assad follows through, he added, "he will suffer the consequences."
Gantz's remarks, delivered at Haifa University's National Security Studies Center, were among the most explicit on-the-record warnings Israeli officials have made to Syria since the conflict in that country began more than two years ago.
The Israeli military also released a one-minute video, filmed in grainy black and white with a night-vision camera, purporting to show three shots fired from the Syrian army outpost followed by a large explosion set off by Israeli forces.
Although several stray mortar and rocket rounds have been fired from Syria into the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, most of those incidents were considered accidents. The intentional targeting of Israeli forces, as occurred Tuesday, has been rare.
The Syrian army released a statement earlier in the day claiming that its forces "destroyed an Israeli vehicle with everything that it had in it."
The Syrians said the jeep was attacked only after it crossed the cease-fire line in the direction of Bir al-Ajam, one of several villages on the Syrian side that has changed hands in fighting between rebels and Syrian army forces in recent months.
"The jeep was on the Israeli side of the line," said Capt. Eytan Buchman, an IDF spokesman, adding that one bullet struck the vehicle and the soldiers were unharmed.
"We will not remain silent about shots fired from Syria into our territory," Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon told Israel army radio. "Our policy is very clear in regards to Syria. We do not plan to get involved in the civil war there, but the situation on the Golan Heights might not allow this."
For 40 years, the Israel-Syria cease-fire line has been quiet. But in recent months, U.N. peacekeepers in the buffer zone have been kidnapped, and later released, by Syrian rebel groups in the area who said the U.N. troops were detained for their own protection.

salaam

its this part that worries me...

i have always maintained that the uprisings in the middle east (the so called arab spring) were engineered by people who do not have the best interest of the people and countries involved. do not rubbish this off as a conspiracy theory as there are examples from recent history were regime change and civil wars have been influenced from outside - and these are just the ones we know about. the only thing these arab springs have brought about are countless deaths, destruction and chaos. the people have not benefited at all. time will tell who has actually benefited the most from this.

it seems like this could be the trigger needed for israel to expand their territory. inshallah they will not succeed, but it should worry us if this is what they are trying to do.

Allah knows best.

we have the hadith of the Prophet (saw) which have been transmitted to us from across the ages over 1400 years ago. countless sahaba (rd), tabieen رضي الله عنه, taba tabieen رضي الله عنه, ulama رضي الله عنه have strove to preserve these hadith to the letter so that we may receive the words of the Prophet (saw) in its original form today.

these hadith contain information and warnings from the Prophet (saw) which more and more seem relevant to this day and age. we should not use these hadith to decorate the books and line the bookshelves, or to compete with one another to see who can memorise the most hadiths. we should look to the hadiths to try and understand the situation of the world in relation to the muslims and use these information and warnings given by the Prophet (saw) to calculate what we should do in these times.

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

First and foremost, everyone reading this should make dua for our Brothers & Sisters in Egypt for Allah (SWT) to protect the believers, their life, their honour, their trust and their wealth and to give the highest status in paradise to those who have passed away (Ameen).

Secondly, this is my opinion of the state of the Deobandees in the West based on my limited experience and understanding and I am liable to error. It is your right to disagree, Insha’Allah.

Assalaam Alaykum

From Sheikh Mumtazul Haq:

Tableegh and the present Crisis of the Ummah

Some people have been asking me what's the stance of tableeghi ulemas in regards to what's happening in Egypt, Syria etc.

NOTE : This is NOT an official response of tableegh elders but my personal view in light of what I have learnt and understood from them.

They feel hurt for muslims wherever there is a calamity or a problem. They also pray for them for Allah to have mercy upon them. They do know and understand what is going on. They just don't speak about it in public. Speaking about such issues does not by any means resolve them. The public are already aware of such issues. Just as there are many other issues that many others don't talk about. Founders and elders of Tableeghi jamaat regard the solution of all the problems of the ummah in returning to deen, repenting and submitting to Allah. Starting and initially focusing on iman and building one's relationship with Allah.
Politics is a part of Deen , no one can deny but to understand and realise what is the need of the time and the best approach is another and much complex affair, as the the situation in Syria , Iraq Egypt and many other instances has proven. Getting thousands killed , thousands orphaned and widowed , with millions others effected in terms of having houses burned , properties looted , women raped etc with no solution or plan for a solution in sight is hardly kindness and goodness to the affairs of the ummah. Whenever there has been a revolution throughout the history of Islam similar bloodshed has occured , trouble towards the end of Hazrat Uthmaan's khilaafah, battle of the camel, Siffeen, etc. This is exactly why Hazrat Uthmaan chose to die at the hands of the rebels but did not allow anyone to raise the sword even against the rebels and mischief mongers because he understood the outcome and valued the honour and blood of muslims. Also during the battles of Jamal (camel) and siffeen, many sahaabah did not involve themselves with either group and chose to sideline themselves.
Recent events in Egypt ( Turkey and Bengladesh ) have proven that the majority of muslims are not ready to accept Islam totally as a complete system governing not just prayer but extending to all social economic and political affairs. If someone tries to impose Islam upon them , people will resist and even reject this change leading to many muslims crossing the border of Islam.
Tableegh elders Alhamdolillah realise and understand the sensitivity of the issues and their real practical solution. Molana Yousuf Kandhalvi rahimahumullah ( former Ameer of Tableegh) once said,
"If I am giving authority and power to implement Shariah , I will not do so for another 50 years, because the ummah is not ready for this yet."
Many people might not and probably won't even understand let alone accept what he said, but we see how true he was in what he said then.
Abdullah ibn Umar radhi Allaho and Imam Zainul Aabideen rahimahumullah, made baiyah of Yazeed and while others broke it , he refused not only to break his pledge but encouraged all those close to him , who would listen to him to do the same . ( Bukhari). Yazeed in response then gave specific orders when he sent an army to attack Madinah that Abdullah ibn Umar and Zainul Aabideen and their famillies and property should not be touched.
No one can deny the importance of Islamic politics but having the insight to deal with and resolve the issues fruitfully is a totally different thing.
So Tableegh elders while being aware of , concerned and praying for the ummah regard continuing the effort of Dawah and Tableegh wihout any political involvement in the present climate (and for the foreseeable future) as the real and practical solution for all the problems and affairs of the WHOLE Ummah.

My beloved teacher and respected elder Shaykh Mumtazul-Haq (HA) is mistaken about the events in Egypt, and what has happened. Today we have the battle between Islam vs Kuf’r, it is no longer about Hafidh Mohammad Morsi  (HA).

[29:3] Indeed We have tested those who were before them. So Allah will surely know the ones who are truthful, and He will surely know the liars.

Tableeghi Jamaat has its parameters and context to operate in and Alhumdolillah they are welcome to it. They gloated when the Americans “defeated” the Taliban so I guess they have another opportunity to gloat.

  1. Sheikh Hassan Ahmed Abdel Rahman Muhammed al-Banna (RA) achieved Shahadah for the sake of Islam in 1949
  2. His grandson Ammar (RA) achieved Shahada for Islam this week
  3. Sons and daughters of many others (leaders and common Muslims) have laid down theri lives and achieved Shahadah, there is a long list
  4. And for those who didn’t achieve Shahahad, read the book “Return of the Pharaoh” to see what our Sister went through.

I guess Tableeghi Jamaat deem it superior to go 3 days and performing Ta’leem then all of the above so I guess each to their own affairs and each will stand in front of Allah (SWT).

There is no "disagree" button on the post and I don't want to say "dislike" to the words of a Scholar as its against Respect but I most certainly and emphatically D-I-S-A-G-R-E-E

Jazakullah Khairun

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Heaven and Earth are astonished at the brutality of men being inflicted fellow men. Today, the news broke out of Chemical attack on civilians in Syria. Most of the readers probably have no idea what it’s like to experience a Nerve gas attack, as part of my military basic training I had to experience it for 30 seconds and at the end of I was vomiting Green Pus & Mucus, my eyes were teary so couldn’t see and my nose was flowing uncontrollably!

Sister Taalibah had removed the link and then informed us of its removal. However, I had put it back forgetting the rules and thought that it was necessary to inform the people of the going ons.

Here is the gist of the video:
Interesting video shows conspiracy.

Quote:
A video that shows the cooperation between ‪#‎ONTV‬ and the ‪#‎Military‬ and this is how:
-At the second 00:39, you can see a soldier wearing the army uniform at the end of the line.
-Then at the second 01:05, you can hear one of the military personnels calling the one who's wearing uniform after he noticed.
-Finally at the second 02:06, you can see the soldier taking of his uniform to become a terrorist for the sake of the camera! And the fabrication goes on!
