Some humble suggestions to Muftisays.

As salaamu wa alay kum.

I can read a newspaper upside down, have been a member of some of the oldest (non Islamic, late 90s) forums on the net, using pc's for nearly 2 decades now but I find MS a little strange.

Why:

a. Hard to navigate.

b. Too many things to pay attention to.

c. The 'recent posts' on the right side does not show the full title of the thread.

d. The sepia color tone of the forum makes me want to go to sleep.

e. The font size is too small.

f. The font size is too small.

g. The font size is too small.

h. Too many sections / sub forums or just something about them thats hard to stay focused.

i. Things like 'appreciate' 'optimistic' 'disagree' ....instant polls? Come again?

Suggestions:

a. Consider increasing the size of the font.

b. The color tone to something more positive, the current one is drab like an old rundown house in some far away desert. How about simple white? Or light grey?

c. The forum is too 'serious' feeling. The one's browsing the net are mostly young. 

d. Remove / merge the sub-sections - keep it simple and uncomplicated. Too many sections just hinder discussions.

e. Allow larger non-animated avatars - let members get creative with it.

There is always room for improvement and perfection belongs to Allah (SWT). Please remember that for a small forum with limited resources to be able to provide a Service for Android/Iphones, Islamic Radio etc is excellent and can't be matched by much bigger forums. When you want to look for serious refutations and evidence and research just look through people's blogs and posts.

May Allah (SWT) reward Mufti Yaseen, Maulana Yasin and everybody else associated with the forum (Ameen).

Alhumdolillah, I am sure Maulana will look into it. Forum is not php based like SF and other forums so yes the layout is different.

custom built doesnt always mean better shaikh.

then why decorate at all?

and its not just about decoration, its also about navigation and being user friendly.

and its not just about old users (who probably look beyond the aesthetics of the forum) but also about attracting new users who may get attracted to deviant sites due to their design and ease of use.

of course it does, but brother desi was not talking about perfection.

please stick to the topic everyone.

im not too bothered about it but i believe shaikh desi has a very good point.

but i do strongly feel that the design and navigation will have put many potential members off.

btw pls dont take this as an attack.
