This looks like advertising to me.

My experience: I used Islam Freedom last year and yes, they offer a good package and whilst my overall experience was good, they were some areas which I was very disappointed in. I mean not to discredit Islam Freedom however, I feel potential pilgrims should be aware: The hotels in Makkah are simply too far from Haram Shareef (600-700m) and given the distance you have to walk and the actual terrain, it is an unpleasant journey furthermore, the hotels themselves are very poor with bedding being dirty (we used 3 hotel in Makkah all arranged via Islam Freedom), toilets dirty and in one case, bed bugs!

There were a few other niggles but arguably you can carry on as normal with those so I won't mention them however, those mentioned above I think are very important to be aware of.

Nevertheless, at the same time I was there a friend of mine also went using a different service provider and his experience was far worse than ours having to travel over 1km to get to his hotel!!! So I guess in comparison, I was the fortunate one, Alhamdulillah ;-)

I actually think we should review these tour travelers / agents on forums like these, so everyone knows whats going on who's good and who isn't, so that the best stand out and the bad one's shut down or get better..

that is a BRILLIANT idea. im surprised no one has thought of this before. many time we have pilgrims returning and complain about how they were treated and cheated.

it would be a difficult task though. how could this be done accurately?

Yes it is a good idea, but the number is very very vast. How many will you compare. Also there will be conflicting reports of every group. It all depends on each individual.

Example: the hajj group I used for hajj and Umrah has been outstanding and would recommend them every time. On the other hand, there some strange people on the same group who wanted to create forums and expose the same group for no reason except that they had an attitude problem. Our group members decided to join a forum and spread the word, then I warned them of what I would do if they attempted anything of the kind. After I had given them a brief lesson on sabr, taqdeer, etc etc, they remained silent. So the point is, who's word would we go for if we had such a thread?
