tablighi jamaat is apolitical and does not make any comment for or against any political group, agenda or activity.

tabligh, Alhamdulillah, has never sought fame or money or positions, its been granted to them time and again by Allah, IF really this doesn't have the backing of the zimmedars, then what really is happening? why is it happening? this whole thing is very unlike tabligh as far as I know. Allahu Alam.

AAWW,

This is the only recent public statement made by the brothers at the Masjid:

"Solad Sikander Mohammed, a spokesman for the Trustees of the Riverine Centre, condemned the Alliance's action as 'trying to use the Riverine Centre planning issue for their political benefit and they have nothing to do with our organisation and they do not have our support."

whilst i have my personal views on this (strong they may seem to some), we should do all we lawfully can to help protect the masjid ....and at the same time hold our decision makers, both at the Council and those behind the Masjid, to account for the situation the Masjid is currently in.

All these thousands going to the protest, It seems more appropriate if they all came to the masjid and made dua, personally i feel that would have much more of an impact.

Ask Allah not the creation, simple.

For those of you who will claim that we have to use the means, please, till today i have never heard of a protest resulting in anything meaningful, usually these just fall on deaf ears.

dont put people off if you have no idea what is going on the ground. look at the statements of all the local ulama on the website -- do you think they are all AWOL? tablighis do not make statements or get involved in this, but that does not equate to them not supporting this. they are in political stalemate and hence the statement you quoted. i cannot say more that this. if you cannot add 2 and 2 then I cannot help you more. sorry. Yes dua is important, but sahaba did not just make dua when it was time to defend the sanctity of the signs of Allah.

tablighis do not make statements or get involved in this,

Why?

What are they afraid of? No one will ask for Daleel or question them on their methods on this occasion.

Or are the tablighi brothers just reliant in taqdeer and say "What ever Allah has written will happen". This is some of their attitude when they ask brothers to leave their family for 4 months without giving any thought to anything else. Khair, that's just my opinion of some of them.

May Allah protect the Masjid and unite the Muslims.

Seriously, when people go to other countries to study dunya for 3-5 YEARS, no one even pays any attention to it. But as soon as someone wants to go 4months, thats when all the fatwas start flying around. How many people do you actually know who have been 4months and returned to find their family in an extreme situaiton of want and poverty or need?? If anything almost everyone who has gone and returned probabally found themselves to be in exactly the same situation had they not left or possibly in an even more favourable posiiton.

salaam

you cannot take the double standards of people and somehow use it to justify the actions of those who do not fulfill the rights of those who they are responsible for. i have known many people who have gone in jamaat and left their families to fend for themselves and rely on handouts from the government. in my own locality there are kids who are hanging around on the streets smoking weed and getting up to all sorts while their fathers spend their free time in tabligh activities and forget about the tarbiyyah of their own kids. i can cite names and examples but of course that would not be appreciated and neither would it be the right thing to do. btw i am talking about purana sathis and not new sathis who do not understand the usool of the work. i am not against the work but at the same time i cannot understand how it is justified to go out in jamaat and spend all your time with tabligh activities when your own family and children need a father to steer them on the right path. just like we are taught in tabligh jamaat...haal ka amr. so surely the haal ka amr in the situation where your own children are taking drugs in the streets is to stay at home and be a father figure for them to look up to and respect.

obviously not. but since when did they become the yardstick for the rights given and enjoined by Allah? i thought the yardstick was the quran and the sunnah.

in fact can you actually tell me what i said wrong? am i wrong that fathers should fulfill their responsibilities and the rights that their family has over them? am i wrong to say that if ones own kids are far from deen to a point that they may be even losing their iman, then the parents should make a greater effort on their own kids?

if i am wrong then please explain it to me citing the quran and sunnah and i will happily accept my mistake.
