There are Angels, Jinn, Mankind, animals and many other things Allah has created.

Not sure how authentic this is, it comes from The Majlis but with no reference.

Hadhrat Ali Bin Abi Taalib (radhiyallahu anhu) narrated that there is one being whose name is Rooh. Allah Ta'ala has created him with 70,000 mouths. In every mouth there are 70,000 tongues. Every tongue has 70,000 lughaat (dialects). The wonderful being recites the tasbeeh of Allah Azza Wa Jal with all his tongues and dialects.
With every Tasbeeh emanating from Rooh (alayhis salaam), Allah Ta'ala creates an Angel who will fly around among the Malaaikah until the Day of Qiyaamah. Subhaanallaah!
According to Hadhrat Ibn Abbaas (radhiyallahu anhu), Rooh (alayhis salaam) has 10,000 wings.

According to Hadhrat Mujaahid (rahmatullah alayh), Rooh (alayhis salaam) is not an Angel. He has the form of a human being, but is not human. He also eats and drinks. He is an entirely different, unique creation of Allah Azza Wa Jal.

Besides this wonderful and gigantic being called Rooh (alayhis salaam), Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) explained that Rooh is a creation apart from the Malaaikah. The term, Rooh in this context is used in the same way as the word 'man' which refers to entire mankind. They dwell among the Malaaikah. They have features and limbs like human beings, and they descend to earth with the Malaaikah who are despatched by Allah Ta'ala on a variety of errands and duties.

Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Buraidah (radhiyallahu anhu) narrated that the combined number - the total - of insaan (human beings) jinn and malaaikah (angels) is less than the number of the species called Rooh. They do not constitute even one tenth of the species Rooh. Here rooh does not mean soul. It is a different species of creation. Just as the jinn are invisible to human beings, so too are the Rooh invisible to the Malaaikah.

Further, there is another species of Allah's creation called Karoobi. In number, the Karoobi is ten times more than the species Rooh.

Only Allah Azza Wa Jal knows what else abounds in His creation

Asslamo Allaikum,

Hadeeth Maquqoof narrated in Sunan Al-Baihaqi

.

Also narrated by Imam Qurtubi (RA) in his Tafseer under the following verse:

[17:85] And they ask you about the Rooh. Say, .The Rooh is something from the command of my Lord, and you are not given from
the knowledge but a little..

The most common interpretation is that Rooh is ofcourse Soul but the other opinion of it being an Angel is also mentioned by Imam Qurtubi (RA).

With regards to the verse above, is that specific to the Ruh/soul? Because here it says that this Rooh is not the same as the Soul/Ruh "and" that it is invisible to the angel meaning its not from the angel.

The Majlis wrote:

Asslamo Allaikum,

[78:38] on the Day when the Rooh and the angels will stand in rows. They will not speak, except the one who is permitted by
the Rahman (the All- Merciful Allah) and speaks aright.

So what is this Rooh? Imam Ibn Katheer (RA) says that Ulamah of Tafseer have given various opinions:

  1. Rooh refers to souls of all humans
  2. It referes to sons of Adam (RA)
  3. It is a creation from the creations of Allah (SWT) with a similitude (shape likened) to son of Adam (AS) but they are neither humans nor angels but they eat and drink
  4. It refers to Sayyidina Gibrael (RA)
  5. It is the Qur'aan
  6. It is an Angel from the Angels equal to the number of creations and it is a Magnificient Angel from the Angels

Asslamo Allaikum,

Subhanullah! It just makes you think about the magnificence and Grandeur of Allah (SWT). How Mighty and Powerful is Allah (SWT) and How powerful are the Creations of Allah (SWT)!!!

I have seen the devastations caused by hurricanes and winds which are minor creations of Allah (SWT) compared to these Magnficient Angels!

Allahu-Akbar!

Allah (SWT) ALONE deserves to be worshiped and everything in Creation SUBMITS to Allah (SWT) except some of the humans and Jinns who rebel in their arrogance and haughtiness but their rebellion harms NONE but themselves!

The whole of mankind and Jinnkind and all the creation put together cannot increase or decrease the magnificience of Allah (SWT) an iota's worth!

Allah (SWT) ALONE is worthy of WORSHIP!

Quote:
Ibn Kathir said in al-Bidayah wa’n-Nihayah:

Many scholars of tafseer say that the jinn were created before Adam (peace be upon him), and before them on Earth there were the hinn and the binn, then Allah caused the jinn to prevail over them, so they killed them and expelled them from the earth and inhabited it after them.

Interesting, because other scholars say this this is not authentic. I wonder why ibn Kathir stated that some mufassireen had mentioned this!

Walahu Alam bro . Even though his tafseer is still one of the most popular ones, the biggest criticism Ibn Katheer ra or let me phrase it better his work gets is that a lot of is based on 'israeli Riwayat/narrations'.

The story in regards to 'Binn', I have also heard Mufti Menk also mention it in the start of his Prophet Series I believe.

in the translation , the word "gnat" is used and not mosquito.
Also, in the video the translation is written as " a mosquito and what is on top of it " but in the translation in ibn kathir it is written as " gnat or what exceeds it ".
Please clarify.
