FOOD COLLECTION

Inshallah in either October or November Shacklewell Centre (next door Shacklewell Lane Masjid), Madina Masid and Masjid Quba will be collecting food for food hampers to be donated to our local Hackney branch of Age UK. The hampers will then be delivered to local vulnerable elderly in/near Hackney...which'll inshallah help them through Winter. In Winter many a times, for some elderly, their pensions only go so far...its a choice of either paying for fuel/utility bills or food. Collection dates will inshallah be announced soon. Volunteers required for collecting, for packing and for distribution - you can volunteer for any role for any amount of time. No previous experience required just a sincere heart to help others :-)

MashaAllah.

The note in the poster is brill.

That should teach us a thing or two about how charity should be given.

InshaAllah, plenty to come from tawhid boys school too.

MASJID FOOD DRIVE UPDATE:

Final Food Drive (for Hackney AgeUK's elderly) collection day tomorrow at Madina Masjid (Hackney E5). Funds can also be donated at the Masjid. List of items that are required: milk power, tea and coffee, tins of soups and veg, biscuits, noodles/pasta. HOWEVER if you cant get things dropped off tomorrow not to worry as mentioned by Abu Mohammed above, Tawhid Boys School (21 Cazenove Road N16) is also collecting for the same cause till Mon 3rd Dec.

In the process of trying to help our local elderly via the food drive, we've also found out theres approx 48 women with approx 15 children between them (+ 3 expectant mothers) staying at various womens refuges in Hackney. These are women (and children) who have left their home due to domestic violence. Inshallah some of the funds collected will be going towards buying food hampers for these women and children too (with the permission of the money donors). May Allah relieve them of their suffering and may he guide their partners to rectify their ways.

Victims of Domestic Violence

In the process of trying to help our local elderly via the food drive, we've also found out locally within Hackney there are 48 women with 15 children between them (+ 3 expectant mothers) staying at various women's refuges in Hackney. These are women (and children) who have left their homes due to domestic violence - Sadly some of women are also local sisters. Inshallah some of the funds collected will be going towards buying food hampers for these women and children too. May Allah relieve them of their suffering and may he guide their partners to rectify their ways.

We still urgently require 250-300 of funds to buy food for the hampers for these women and their children.

Please email [email protected] for further info and how to donate (donations can be made in person or online) Funds can also be given to Ibrahim Rangres at Madina Masjid (Hackney E5)
