Back here again!

Have you heard the uploaded talk on the previous page?

I've made a few comments in this thread about what's app and alhumdulillah I no longer have it.

I could no longer stand the thing.

Although it has its benefits, the dangers are far more worse.

people are uploading picture profiles etc on things like what's app, they actually write and update their current status, pathetic sad people.

I feel much better without having what's app. I only used it for a very small number of family members and MuftiSays. Even then, I have over 600 contacts including work, and over 150 of them on what's app. It was very annoying. The sweetness of not having what's app is beautiful. No more wasaawis from shaitan and his henchmen, in this regard at least.

If you really need something to keep in touch with family, get something that is less fitnahfied, i.e. something that doesn't allow you to be identified by your phone number by a random person who by chance has your phone number.

Trust me, there is an alternative to what's app.

We will have to disagree on this Abu Mohamed, whatsapp is just like a normal messaging service. Don't understand why its being compared to Facebook. It's good for keeping in contact with family abroad and sending out group messages. Apart from some people getting silly with changing their status messages, I agree that some people choose to put pictures up of themselves, but the status pic comes up so small on the phone that you would have to actually go into the pic to get full view. I'm not sure why your totally against it?

UNCRONTOLLED USE OF PHONES AND DEVICES

When we become enslaved by social networking sites or applications, we stand to lose the real people who truly mean most to us.

If we have no control over how long we spend on our phones or devices we may find our homes breaking up systematically. The way we use our phones & handheld devices can determine the direction of our marriages & condition of our homes. One by one, today's spouses are complaining of the same problem - uncontrolled use of phones & devices.

Are you prepared to limit the time you spend on phones, games & social apps to save yourmarriage?

Make your decision.

Lol! Sorry am I still allowed to say that?

Keep my whatsapp muted for 8hrs at a time, and check messages as and when.

Isn't it how person uses and not abuse ways of communicating. It's like Skype, I've heard so many horror stories of what people get up to on Skype.

It's people that need to be educated in using the means appropriately, taking away the means doesn't refrain a person from acting out their ill intention.

Shaitan runs in our blood, we won't even know when we're tripping.

Better to be safe than sorry.

(apologies, I don't have the hadith at hand)

You can, but had you said SubhanAllah, you would've earned a huge tree in Jannah.
