Very good observation as well as very good question Khan Sahab.
(1) Liberals and leftists of our country want stern action against her.
(2) The so called secular Muslims of India want action against her.
(3) Her part head, Mr Arvind Kejriwal, was little more understanding - he merely attributed bad choice of words to her.
(4) Her remarks were to the effect that we Muslims of India had had enough of secularism.
(5) In India secularism means that we should not use religion for political purpose.
(6) The tricky part is that there are loads of parties that use Hinduism for political purpose. BJP/VHP/BD/Shiv Sena/MNS all are like that. No one can arrest their drive.
(7) Combined they come under the ideological patronage of RSS and are called the Sangh Parivar.
(8) Muslims have been discriminated against overtly/covertly, by omission and by commission over last 67 years.
(9) Normally a discriminated community should get the right to act for itself and that is what Shazia said.
(10) And people are after her for this. Including some silly Muslims.
(11) I used my techniques on one such Muslim secularist and politically ambitious man. After a week of deliberation he came out with the brain wave: I am against using religion for political purpose.

Masterji, you forgot to add nothing she said would have any impact and that she is a nobody, the only reason why her comments became headlines for 27 seconds was because of election season and the media is hungry for any soundbites, at-least she is a former journalist, even absolute nobodies are getting attention, for the simple reason that this is election season, anything sells now.

I suggest use your techniques on Buddhist in Burma, because tableeghis are not upto the job.

This post has been reported. It could be due to breaking rules or something as simple as bad use of bbcodes which breaks the page format. We will attend to this soon.

I am not an astrologer to predict whether Shazia Ilmi can do anything or not.
And for the record I am not a Masterji. I am taking this as an disrespectful address to me.

Again I do not understand how you can ask me uncomfortable questions? This thread is about Burma and I am a Muslim in India where Muslim community is beleaguered. My responsibility towards Burmese Muslims are much less than those of Bangladeshi Muslims. they have a country of their own and are very close to Burma.

And in case you can send some inconvenient questions my way in the context of Indian Muslims then also you shall look silly because you can not pick one out of 250 million Muslims to slap the blame upon. In case you would refer to my status as a Masterji, in your own inconsiderate words, then I invite you to show some courage and observe my activities on Facebook. I am opening my mouth on issues related to Muslims. In the process I have lost some non-Muslim friends and thus I shall absolve myself of any blame that you might think of in future.

I suppose I have given you enough attention but you may discuss further. Kindly expect no debate - I detest it.

Shaikh London I am in Aligarh. The crowd here is even more impertinent. But the Mercy of Allah (SWT) is so more important that detractors ultimately fizzle out. Above boy is just exploring the same territory that we saw at SF so often. We all have seen that the first thing modern education teaches is to be disrespectful towards elders and it is taken as some sort of good thing. To bring back our youth to the right path is the gigantic task we are saddled with. The so called enlightenment has been the biggest weapon employed by the crusaders against Islam and Muslims.

But I do not think above boy is outrightly brain washed. He just thinks it is alright to jest with elders.

Deaths reported in Myanmar sectarian riots

03 Jul 2014

Two people have been killed during clashes between Buddhists and Muslims in Myanmar's second-largest city of Mandalay, police said.

"There are two dead," a police officer, who did not want to be named, told AFP news agency by telephone on Thursday, without providing further details.

The reported deaths came a day after reports of five people being injured during secratarian clashes.

"One policeman, three Buddhists and one Muslim were injured by stones in the incident," Mandalay police said in a statement late on Tuesday.

"Two of the three injured Buddhist men are receiving treatment in Mandalay hospital and the rest got treatment as outpatients." the statement said.

A witness who lives in the mostly Muslim neighbourhood said a Buddhist mob had gathered late on Tuesday after rumours spread that the Muslim owner of a tea shop had raped a Buddhist woman.

No evidence of such an attack was immediately available.

Police stood between the groups and tried to drive the Buddhists away, the witness said.

"The police and the crowd fought each other and the crowd threw stones at the police," he said.

He said the Buddhist mob ransacked shops and burned vehicles before police managed to restore order, but that at 6 am local time Buddhists were still driving through the neighbourhood shouting at residents.

Police fired rubber bullets to disperse the angry crowds that were facing off in the streets.

A local journalist told Al Jazeera that several Muslim shops were destroyed and that some people had been wounded in knife attacks. The main market in town remained closed on Wednesday.

Myanmar has been wracked by violence between the two communities since June 2012. More than 200 people have been killed and at least 140,000 displaced. Most of the victims have been Muslim.

Background:

I was speaking to a well educated and experienced Burmese uncle last week about this and this is what he said.

He is Gujarati but his forefathers have resided in Burma for generations. He said that basically when the economy of Burma was always in the hands of Hindus and Muslims (and not indigenous and ethnically Burmese) and Muslims put their roots in Burma (by marrying locally) having institutes (Darul-ulooms etc) while the Hindus primarily earned their money and sent it to India.

After partition (1947) many Hindus were offered Indian citizenship which they took while the Muslims remained in Burma, a few Muslims took Indian citizenship but vast majority didn’t because they had local ties.

The problem wasn’t the Burmese Muslims who had been there for generations. The problem was the ethnically Bangali Muslims who came to Burma and settled in Rakhine state. Originally, these Bangalees were brought into Burma by the British as farm labour but the immigration continued and increased many folds in teh 1960’s and 1970’s due to independence of Bangladesh.

These Bangalees morphed themselves into Rohingya people and demanded rights (and Burmese citizens). For decades they have been known for swindling, embezzlement, womanising, drug trade, prostitution and other crimes which the greater Burmese people are not used to.

Shaykh (Maulana) Marghoob Ahmed Lajpuri (RA) told me when I asked him about Burma that he went a few years ago and during shopping the young girl didn’t have change so Maulana wanted to get change but the Burmese girl said, “Father! Why would you go? Sit down while your daughter will get the change for you...”

So ethnically Burmese people have had tensions with Bangali migrants into Burma since 1960’s because they knew that these people aren’t Rohingya so since the 1970’s Burma has done an about-face and refused to recognise even the “genuine” Rohingya.

Due to the widespread vice and sins, Tableeghi Jamaat has been operating in this region for decades and because they go in Jamaats (due to sectarian tensions) this alarms the local (Non-Muslims) greatly until it finally came to blows!

The brother said that obviously I am at pain at the loss of life of Muslims but I should also acknowledge but the Bangali immigrants have been doing in my country for decades.

Furthermore, he said that Bangladesh must take some blame for closing its border and leaving its citizens to die in such a manner

Disclaimer: No idea if this is true or not...

www.channelnewsasia.com/news/asiapacific/bangladesh-bans-...

DHAKA: Bangladesh said Thursday it has barred official marriages between its nationals and Myanmar's Rohingya refugees, whom it claims are attempting to wed to gain citizenship.

Law minister Syed Anisul Haque said he has ordered marriage registrars not to officiate any unions between Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingya and also between Rohingya themselves, thousands of whom have fled to Bangladesh.

He said Rohingya try to use the resulting wedding certificate to gain Bangladeshi passports and other documents, while Rohingya who marry Bangladeshis could automatically qualify for citizenship.

"By registering their marriage in Bangladesh they try to prove that they're Bangladeshi citizens," he told AFP.

"We've told the marriage registers not to list any marriage of Rohingya and also between a Rohingya and a Bangladeshi citizen in Bangladesh."

Law ministry spokesman Abdullah Al Shahin said marriage registrars have been warned of punitive action if they officiate any such marriages.

There are around 300,000 Rohingya living in Bangladesh's southern coastal districts bordering Myanmar who have fled alleged persecution in the nation since the 1990s.

Sectarian clashes flared up two years ago in Myanmar's western Rakhine state, with fighting that has displaced about 140,000 people, mainly stateless Rohingya.

Bangladesh recognises only around 28,000 of the refugees in its country, who are entitled to food, basic housing and other aid provided by the United Nations.

The rest of the Rohingya in Bangladesh live in slums set up in cleared forests and on beaches.

Bangladesh border guards regularly turn back Rohingya caught trying to cross the Myanmar border.

Rights groups and charities have criticised Bangladesh's treatment of Rohingya, claiming they lack basic healthcare and many are on the verge of starvation.

Ban on marriage with Rohingya refugees

The government has prohibited marriages between Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshis, considering that such marriages create social and cultural problems and force it to give citizenship to refugees. The inspector general of registration under the law ministry issued a circular yesterday, asking the marriage registration offices across the country to prevent kazis from conducting any marriage between refugees, who are the nationals of Myanmar, and Bangladeshi citizens. Referring to the circular, IGR Khan Md Abdul Mannan told The Daily Star that legal...
