I have so many stories to tell but I need plenty of time to type them out and phrase it correctly. Khair, here's one. I was on my way to the mosque for Salah where I was stopped by a Pakistani man with a salaam. He asked me in his native language if there was a mosque nearby. So I said yes, just here. His next question baffled me. He can see that I was appropriately dressed for the mosque. He asked, "Is it a masjid for Muslims?". Stunned for a second, I replied yes. He then said I'm only asking because everyone looks different here. I laughed and said, "This here is a synagogue, and that there with the dome is the mosque." SubhanAllah, the orthodox Jews taken as fake Muslims.

Asslamo Allaikum,

In Garden Grove Mosque (LA) which is regarded as the richest Muslim community in the west with expensive cars parked outside a child (about 12) stopped me and asked "If I was a Jew?"

I asked why and he said, "Because you have your head covered!"

This seems to be common because on one occasion I also got asked by a young boy if I was Jewish because I was wearing a thobe and hat.

I will tell you what else I find funny is when you see/meet people that have never had contact with Muslims that do not dress in western clothing and they ask you to let them take a photo off you with them. This happened to me while I was in Cordoba, Spain visiting the old Qurtaba Masjid

I had an installation once back in Victoria at the DTI, (dti). Department of trade and industry. This was just after Maulana masood azhar saheb was released from prison. We had been working there for a few days. On one occasion, I walked to the security withy my colleague and asked to see their maintenance engineers. The woman at the security desk called them up and told him we had arrived. The man on the phone said something to which the lady replied yes they do and giggled. Without any further questions, she said we could make our way to him.

I asked her what was funny and what he had asked, she said, "He asked me if you looked like hijackers"
SubhanAllah, and just because we looked Muslim, or at least I did. She let us through no questions asked. Imagine we were someone else and what we could have done inside a government building. Amazing.

Khair, I only felt happy to be compared to those heroes who let Maulana Masood out of prison.

I had a callout at a cafe in Strand. As I walked in I noticed a famous Bollywood actor walking in with me at the same time.

The actor started making him self obvious to me waiting for me to say, "hey I know you". He ordered a coffee and a cake and then was charged 5. Then the man at the till asked me what I wanted, so o told him I was looking for the director of the company as I had a meeting with him. At first they said there was no one of that name and the Bollywood guy just looked on. I made a phone call straight to the director and told him I was in his cafe. Within seconds the waiter received a call and instantly apologized. He asked me if I wanted anything to drink, so I ordered a latte. He told me to take a seat, so I sat near the actor to show him I didn't care who he was.

The waiter returned with the latte and the same cake. I said to the waiter that I hadn't ordered the cake. He replied, "Dont worry sir, the latte and cake are on the house".

The actor was stunned, I looked at him with a look that said, "who's famous hey?"

(he was dressed in a suit and I was in my jeans and t-shirt, as I normally would dress as an engineer)

I was told after that the Bollywood actor also played a part in a very popular English tv serial/sitcom.

Hey I don't care. I just laughed at the fact that a well recognized Bollywood and British TV star was ignored and over looked when a bearded Muslim guy walked in and was given all the respect. Lol.

www.muftisays.com/forums/people-s-say/5557/bus-advertisin...

I went to Earlsfield to collect some equipment from a company called Entryphone London. Whilst I was there, I saw a sign saying London Mosque, (Official road sign).

I was quite suprised to see that as there were no mosques around the area according to the first edition of Muslim directory which I carried with me in my van. Any way, I thought it was new and I still had some time before Jummah so I stayed in the area and waited for Jummah time, but when I walked into to the main gates, I was stopped by some guy asking me what I wanted. I was shocked, I told him I want to pray Jummah and this is the only mosque in the area that I could find. Then he started asking me many questions about why I was there. Anyway, then another young kid comes up and sees whats happenning so he told the man that he would keep me with him until i leave. I thought that was very strange. I looked around and couldnt find any thing strange (I had to pray outside). THere was a name on a board saying that it was the FIRST Mosque to be built in London/England. I was even more shocked. Then I saw a sign saying Ahmed Clininc, this didnt ring a bell as I was quite young at the time. We prayed Jummah and then all of a sudden it felt like every one was doing "Hail Hitler", I thought I was in a Barelwee mosque. Then all of a sudden a man walked pass everyone wearing a white turban and the people started going crazy. The boy who walked me into the mosque said "as you can see, we are a little different and that is our Amir".

As I walked out of the mosque I saw another sign saying The Ahmediya center.

I felt so sick, I wanted to spit in their faces and release my bowles all over them. But the CCTV was tight.

Gutted, I had to then do Zohar Qaza.

After a few years, I had heard that the guy I saw and prayed Jummah behind was the last Amir of the Qadyanis and that he was dispatched to Hell. I was so pleased to hear that he died. LOL in his face. Kaffir. (my way of swearing at him)

Taken from the beard thread mentioned earlier.

I went to the Morrocon Embassy as an Engineer. (Part of my job) I met one of the officials there who asked me if I was Muslim. I replied "Yes, How did you know?". He laughed (Because he had an answer). He said, "I can tell by your BEARD, your short Moustache and your jeans are above your ankles". So I asked him if he was a Muslim and again he laughed and he said "of course". So I said to him, "I cant see any sign of you being a Muslim".

The official then directed me to my job. The Embarassement was awesome.

The Israeli racist.

My colleague and I were sent to an office for the installation of New cabling and a telephone system.

We were shown round by the client and started the job as normal. Within a couple of hours, my boss calls up and says "I want you to stop everything your doing and cut all the cables and just leave". I asked my boss what the problem was and why we should cut all the cables we had run. So he told me that this guy was being racist, and that he just called his mate who recommended us to him and said that he didn't want "muslim" working in his office.

We left site and told the client that we had to leave for something. We didn't undo our work and left the cables as they were.

After a day, we were told that this Israeli guy called all his Jewish mates and asked for the best system engineers they knew, and guess what, they all gave our number to him. Now the Israeli guy was stuck. He finally called our other Israeli client who got us that particular job and said, "looks like I don't have a choice, please ask those guys to comeback and complete their work".

Amazing, these Jews hate us so badly. Anyways, he became a regular client just like the other multi millionaire Jews and since then he has called us plenty if Times, he even gives up tips. SubhanAllah from racist to tipper.

Now I get calls from him, his wife, his daughter, his in laws, everyone. He too recommends us to others now.

I've known a Moroccan client for many years, very old man, probably in his late 60s.

One day, I went to his office to reprogram his telephones. As I finished, he praised me and told me that he had known me to be a very good, loyal, honest person for many many years. Then he started telling me how he wished he was a good person etc etc. I didn't know what to say, so I simply said, "You need to answer to Allah, not me".

He felt guilty and said, "Tonight I have to.go to a funeral, if you don't mind, can you please teach me how to pray janaazah Salah."

He felt very upset and sorry with him self and showed so much guilt. He said, "I feel ashamed to be asking you this, buy it will be so embarrassing if I don't know how to pray, I haven't prayed for a very very long time."

SubhanAllah, its amazing how even the Arabic speaking Muslims don't care for their akhira.

More places I've been to as part of my work that could be put here includes;

The BBC, The British Library, Mittal residence, Ghulam Noon, Lord Stevens, The sultan of brunai, and many more including a few from the top richest asians of this country. Some characters lol.

Not all are Islamic based, just weird incidents.
