Mufti Abdur Rahman ibn Yusuf once gave an example after Salah as part of our one minute Madrasah lesson.
The lesson was about the importance of stoping at certain parts of the Salah.
It has been noticed that many people in Salah do not fully stop into the position they should stop in, to complete the action. For example, many people get up from Ruku and then start going into Sajdah before they have fully stood up to complete the Qiyam.
We are treating it like a give way when we drive. Meaning, we can see that no car is coming, so without stopping we continue. This in Salah is wrong. Every position in Salah must be completed fully with every limb stopping at its final position.
If we do not stop, then we have not prayed correctly.
InshaAllah, I will try to get more detail regarding this Mas'ala.
No. 5852 - Narrated Abu Huraira:
A man entered the mosque while Allah's Apostle was sitting in one side of the mosque. The man prayed, came, and greeted the Prophet. Allah's Apostle said to him, "Wa 'alaikas Salam (returned his greeting). Go back and pray as you have not prayed (properly)." The man returned, repeated his prayer, came back and greeted the Prophet. The Prophet said, "Wa alaika-s-Salam (returned his greeting). Go back and pray again as you have not prayed (properly)." The man said at the second or third time, "O Allah's Apostle! Kindly teach me how to pray". The Prophet said, "When you stand for prayer, perform ablution properly and then face the Qibla and say Takbir (Allahu-Akbar), and then recite what you know from the Qur'an, and then bow with calmness till you feel at ease then rise from bowing, till you stand completely straight, and then prostrate calmly (and remain in prostration) till you feel at ease, and then raise (your head) and sit with calmness till you feel at ease and then prostrate with calmness (and remain in prostration) till you feel at ease, and then raise (your head) and sit with calmness till you feel at ease in the sitting position, and do likewise in whole of your prayer." And Abu Usama added, "Till you stand straight."
It is necessary (wajib) to remain motionless for a moment in all the pillars of prayer, i.e. to be in a state of serenity and calmness in each pillar of prayer before moving into the next position. This serenity is achieved by allowing one's limbs to come to rest and their joints at ease. [Nur al-Idah]
One of the worst forms of theft or cheating is cheating in prayer. The Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "The worst type of thief is the one who steals from his prayer." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allaah, how can a person steal from his prayer?" He said: "By not doing rukoo' and sujood properly." (Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 5/310).
This lack of composure and failure to pause in rukoo' and sujood and to stand up straight after rukoo' or sit up properly between sujoods may be observed in many of those who pray, and hardly any mosque is free of examples of people who do not have the proper composure in prayer. Correct composure is one of the pillars of prayer, without which prayer is invalid. This is a serious matter. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "A man's prayer is not good enough until his back is straight in rukoo' and sujood." (Reported by Abu Dawud, 1/533; see also Saheeh al-Jaami', 7224).
There is no doubt that lacking the proper composure is bad, and the person who is guilty of this deserves to be reprimanded and threatened with punishment. Abu 'Abdullaah al-Ash'ari رضي الله عنه reported that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) led his Companions رضي الله عنهم in prayer, then he sat with a group of them. A man came in and started to pray, but made his movements rapid like a chicken pecking the ground. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: "Do you see this? Whoever dies having done this has died outside of the community of Muhammad, and his prayer is like a crow pecking blood. The person who bows then pecks in his sujood is like a hungry man who eats no more than one or two dates - what good will that do him?" (Reported by Ibn Khuzaymah in his Saheeh 1/332).
Zayd Ibn Wahb رحمة اللہ علیه said: "Hudhayfah رضي الله عنه saw a man who was not performing rukoo' and sujood properly. He said: 'You have not prayed, and if you were to die, you would die on a way other than that revealed by Allaah to Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم).'" (Reported by al-Bukhaari, see al-Fath, 2/274).
Once a person is aware of this ruling, if he fails to perform prayer with the proper composure, he should repeat it and repent to Allaah for what is past, as is indicated by the hadeeth "Repeat your prayer, for you have not prayed."
Amazing, I have seen this so many times where they hardly sit or stand in between postures. these people are missing out on a wajib act so there namaz is in complete!
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
