From an email I received from a brother who received it from ENGAGE.

Salaam,

You will recall at the recent ENGAGE MasterClass we promised to create a practical media checklist documenting the most widely read media and comment websites as well as clear guidance on how to quickly complain to regulatory bodies such as OfCom. Alhamdulillah, after considerable work, I am delighted to attach the personal media checklist. This media checklist guides you on how to make the most effective use of your time on the internet and to ensure that you COMMENT as frequently as possible on well-read websites. We have also included the ‘2 minute complaint system’ for you to action should you object to a story. This monitoring checklist is the first of its kind and will ultimately insha’allah lead to more balanced reporting on Muslim community and hence much less Islamophobia. All the media websites in this document are hyperlinked for your ease.

What to do now?
  1. Copy this guide on to your computer’s desktop. Visit the websites listed in the document as frequently as possible (at least 3 times a week). Comment on articles wherever possible. Whenever you see anything objectionable, us the hyperlinks to quickly complain.
  2. Forward this media checklist to all your contacts. Media outlets have to take notice when large numbers of people complain about an unfair news item.

May Allah (SWT) reward you for your help – Ameen.

Wassalam,
