Salaam,

The well received Magazine, Muftisays READ, has currently slowed down. This is due to many aspects, therefore I have a suggestion.

(This was also a flop: http://www.muftisays.com/forums/people-s-say/5545/how-does-one-generate-funding-.html?p=26574#26574)

With the current look, we are unfortunately unable to remove the unwanted uncontrollable ads, unless some sort of funding was arranged.

My Idea is to keep the magazine going but as a PDF download, this way it will no longer have external interference, no Haram ads and a lot easier to get the magazine spread out. Those who would like to print the magazine may do so and collect them too.

All those currently subscribed to the Magazine will continue to receive the magazine, and those who have not subscribed, can download it from the Magazine page.

PDF is a much better way to go about the magazine, although the current method has a more pleasing method of displaying the pages, we will be in full control of the pdf.

We can take a decision in about a months time. So please show your support by voting and expressing your views.

Jazakallahu Khair.

Yes it will get rid of the unwanted stuff. With the PDF, we have full control and on top of that its free.

If we keep the current method, we MUST get rid of the "unwanted stuff" and the only way to that is to go "Pro". This, as we all know, costs money and not many people can afford it at the moment.

PROS:

PDF = easier for me, for the magazine team and easy for the user too

Current method = Pleasant viewing, better stats, realistic magazine feel, outside recognition

CONS:

PDF = Slight server load for us, side by side page format not possible, acrobat pdf reader would be required to view it

Current method = Haraam ads unless we pay to go pro, more work for editor, flash required for viewing, magazine freezes on slower computers

So all in all, personally I think PDF has more pros than cons compared to current method. That's just my view.

Members please vote so we can decide. So far, the votes are pretty clear on one of those options. Almost made up my mind already
