You mentioned very early in the post that these people who taunt you about being extreme are the same people who give you Dr Naiks cds.

I thought the taunts were comming from none Muslims.

Dr Zakir Naik himself would give you support. I listen to him too. I only take the good on comparison of religion's.

He is famous for saying, "If you have a label, wear it" Show your intention. Show your religion. Be proud of your religion.

These taunters like Dr Naik, yet they are telling you about me and my feelings. What's their problem, if they don't like what I have to say, then why read my posts. I'm no famous person nor a scholar that they quote me. This is a huge world and these people found me, they found you. They're probably reading all the posts here ready for their next set if taunts.

hmm I get the point.. but the issue here is brother yasin like u said its the outside environment affects, thats eactly what I am scared about u see. Alhamdulillah we dont have a TV at home but since I stay in a joint family he has a cousin brother whos 6 and ge plays on the computer most of the time and my little one feels bad that he doesnt have anything of this sort to play with thats when i try my best to load him with toys he likes the most.. a few ppl in my house (xcept my husband) feel inferior when i take him out in his arabi jubba (which hes in all the time).The elders of the house say that im trying to put them down by making him wear this type of clothes in weddings or any grand party. its so difficult to single handedly manage all thes things. This country is just good for nothing islamically. Theres just one islamic school which is not so much of a help but atleast better than other schools.

I personally used to go to dr zakir naiks lectures when i was in india since IRF is just 2 mins walk fom my house there, I know his family very well but u see the only issue with him is in fiqh.. he doesnt agree with what our ulemaas say. these ppl who r the followers of zakir naik also mould the religion into the way they want it. some parent told me the other day when i brought my child from his nursery that at this age your trying to make ur chld aalim and faazil, do u thinnk he will retain it when he grows up, so jus stop this and let him be on his own....

I have seen children grow up in an Islamic environment and the turned hot to perfect from what we can see.

I have also seen children grow up in an Islamic family who have turned hot to be the worst children.

I have seen children grow up in an non practicing family and they have grown up to change the family into practicing Muslims.

Take a look at Dr Naik, do you think he let his children be, or did he drill Islam into them.

Take a look at Fariq Naik, his son, MashaAllah. Take a look at his daughters, MashaAllah.

Take a look at usama bin laden. His children are of two kinds too. One is wanted by the FBI because he practices Islam fully, one is written about in the tabloids here because he opposes his religion, and tries to be a Hellas angel look a like.

It works in many ways, you continue to be you, give love to your son, your son in return will respect your desires of him being what you are trying to make him, inshaAllah.

Listen to Dr Naiks talk where mentions the environment and friends, friendship etc, then give that cd to your so called friends.

The advice I gave earlier was based on what he said mostly and from what I hear in lectures by our ulama.

Give your son full support, inshaAllah, you will become the only environment he sees.

...and after using all the means dont forget to turn to Allah subhaanahu wata'ala and ask HIm to prtect and guide your child. There are Qur'anic du'a specifically for that.

This advise for all of us as only Allah subhaanhu wata'ala it is Who safeguards and guides.

Shaykh recently mentioned two principles in regards to training children:

1. Whilst living in this country, where there is a lot of freedom, we should, whilst staying within the limits of the sharee'ah give them freedom and means of enjoyment.

2. If you are intending upon fulfilling the request or desire of your child then do so at the very first instance without them crying or making a fuss. And if you intend not to do so then do not give into their desire even if they cry or make fuss, because this will become their habit; getting what they desire at any cost.

Assalaamu alyakum wr wb

The mother is the madrassa for her children....A childs tarbiya should be the mothers number one priority.....then inshaALLAh the rest will come.....myself i dress my daughters in dresses so they will inshaALLAH dress in jilbabs when older and i also have already started putting hijaab on her [since she was 1 year old] and my daughter AlhamdoLILLAH is okay with it as she thinks we are playing dress up.

The enviroment around our children and how we dress around our children is vital....

don't expect namazee's when you don't read yourself....or hijaabees when yopu don't do it yourself!

My opinion there is no such thing as being strict when it comes to deen......Start from a young age and inshaALLAH they will become the way you want them to islamically.....excuses like we live in a kaafir country is total rubbish......

yes agreed.... my grand daughter was trained from when she started to stand to "sit" and drink water. Alhamdulillah right through her toddler years when she could not even speak we just had to hold a glass of water in our hands and she would sit down and reach out her hand masha Allah!
