These buildings are very displeasing to the Ummah.

We shouldn't be supporting it, we should be reminding others about what the prophet SAW taught us.

There was once a time when people said that nothing should be higher than the kabah. So they built huge minarets. Then they said nothing should be higher than the minarets, then they built sky scrapers and put mosques on the top floors. This tall minaret is an excuse to have a huge monster in front of the kabah.

These tall buildings remind me of firauns (Pharoah) ladder. He had a ladder built so high so he could get closer to Allah and shoot arrows at Allah..

WHY?

1) It is proven in Saheeh Muslim in the hadeeth of 'Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah have mercy on him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, when Jibreel asked him about the signs of the Hour: "When you see the barefoot, naked, destitute shepherds competing in the construction of lofty buildings." Ibn Rajab said, commenting on this hadeeth: What is meant is that the lowest of the people will become their leaders, and their wealth will increase, until they compete in building tall buildings, and adorning them.

2) Abu Dawood (448) narrated that Ibn 'Abbaas said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "I have not been commanded to build lofty mosques." Ibn 'Abbaas said: You are going toadorn (mosques) as the Jews and Christians adorn (their places of worship). This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

Once upon a time, we used to receive leaflets of Hajj packages. On the leaflet, there used to be pictures of the hotel rooms, the lobby etc. Then, if the hotel had the bonus of a Haram view, it would have that.

Today I received a leaflet and the first picture, the picture to get the attention of todays Muslims was that it has a view of the tower. You can't see the Ka'bah at all let alone the Haram. Priorities!

The place where I get my updates from answered my query, to which I didn't know what to say

I said, "this is a sign of judgement day."

Someone replied. "its a sign, NOT a sin"

What an attitude. Fine! I just left it there.
