Asslamo Allaikum,

After reviewing over 70 pages and many posts and listening to the concerns of Muslims & Muslimahs; Scholars and laymen alike, I have decided to put everything together in a single document with extensive evidence from Qur’aan & Sunnah.

Here is the book:

Here is the thread where Maulana is posting this:

probs a v.silly question but what impact would there be on children's minds if polygyny was practiced by a young father raising his family in the West. In UK/USA/West polygyny is virtually non-existent so if a young father went and married a second women when no one else has in his entire area/region ever (i.e. so it 100% not the norm), how would his kids react ?

Asslamo Allaikum,

If the kids are young they will grow up with it and won't know the difference. The real issue is the kids from the Sister; I know some cases where men have an awkward relationship with the grown up children of their wife i.e. his step children where the sister has married him for support and the kids won't accept him as an authority.

By the same token there is a Sister who is on my case to take her as second wife and her argument is that her kids know me and have no problems with me while I have no real interest in her or her children or her life; would rather read a book

If you ask me or my kids then the answer would be such that there would be no denial. The western world would laugh at us if they saw our miswaks, so what! The western world can't understand why we want to follow a specific law, the western world can't understand how we can LOVE a man more than out entire generation (saw) but our children can, Alhumdulillah.

The Prophet (saw) and countless Sahabah practiced it. The western world looks at the Muslims and say that we are behind, but we have or should have brought our kids up with the right mind and education. I don't see how this would affect the children. If anyone was to be affected, then it would be the wife. Boy oh boy! TThat's when your talking trouble, especially if the wife is not a pious wife and is very sensitive.

Go for second nikah with intention of mujahidah/sacrifice.

People won't do fair treatment after second nikah.
Fair treatment is for name sake, never witnessed fair treatment among wives. Today, go for second nikah with intention of mujahidah. Rewards shall be proportionate to whatever azaab and hardships one faces through 2 wives.
