But there are two sides of this matter.

What you've said, is from a woman's perspective. You are seeing a glittery abaya, you are being attracted by it only. You don't care who is wearing it.

But as an ordinary man (having lower level of Taqwa and spiritual illness), I know, when a man sees a glittery abaya, he is being attracted by it first and then by the woman wearing it.

To sum it up, there are two kinds of attractions related to a glittery abaya:

1. A primary natural, innocent attraction towards a glittery object. Men, women, children- everyone has it. Even you'll find infants stare at glittery stuffs.

2. A secondary attraction for the inner object. This attraction is developed among men only.

I think brother Imam Ali started this thread on the basis of this phenomenon.

Wear the lose plain dark coloured clothes - wear size 18 even if are size 8 tops. Lowering the gaze - I think is the most important!
