What is the solution the issues of laziness, kethargy and negativity from Qur'an and Sunnah? I make good intentions but I am overcome by one of these 3 things. This leads to negiligence, sin and despondency.

Asslamo Allaikum,

Shaykh (Mufti) Taqi Usmani (HA) discusses the matter in "Islahi Khutbaat" and he says that there is no Ta'weez or medicine for laziness and the only solution is "Himmat" i.e. commitment and activenes.

In Naf'l acts of worship when your plans are broken realise that "Only Allah (SWT) gives Taufeeq to do good deeds and submit to the will of Allah (SWT)" and this will lead you to break the back of Shaytaan.

Also realise that you are human and weak by nature and submit your weakness to Allah (SWT).

When you put too much pressure on yourself then this will lead to despondency.

Instead of putting too much pressure on yourself turn the equation on its head and turn to Allah (SWT) and make dua, "O Allah! I am your weak servant and I cannot accomplish what I plan so assist me and help me".

Watch your despondency leave and become a way for you to get closer to Allah (SWT).
