However, I do not say that it is impermissible (na-jaiz/haram) to do so.

Some people tell me there is an account under my name also. I do not approve of it. I tell them to delete it if possible. I have no connection with it.'

Im sorry this just seems like a complete contradicitons, In the first part it says the below

[quote=ashrafiya . com]'Yes indeed one should not have an account on the facebook . It is against the Islamic honor to do so. The desecration they did for our master Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) was despicable.

So Mufti is admitting and confirming the desecration of our master Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) was despicable.

So how can he then go on to say

[quote=ashrafiya . com]However, I do not say that it is impermissible (na-jaiz/haram) to do so.

It just seems like a complete disregard for the first half of his statement. Its obvious he doesnt know what was said and done in this matter and how serious it was. Hence why he seems so "laid back" about it.

In some way you can even say that hes saying, ......O well what can you do? Just keep using Fitnah book. Its no biggy

Even a country like Pakistan blocked Facebook for 2 days in protest.

Anyone can justify their use of FACEBOOK, WHATS APP, TANGO, VIBER, KIK MESSENGER ETC. But in all honesty, IT IS ALL TOO SCARY.

No matter how pious or religious one may be, Shaitan is always there to push you to the limits.

Remember, he wont do it straight away, he will do it very slowly. It could take years, but one day, you will see how you slipped.

May Allah protect us from such evil thoughts.

(Just thought I needed to remind my self, Allah protect me)

Waalaykum salaam.

Alhumdulillah, no I don't.

I don't trust myself to be honest. I do what I can to stay away.

Lets just say, "Been there, done that. And I've seen others suffer"

Same reason why I got rid of what's app etc. I use something else which has a lesser danger of fitnah if you know what I mean.

salaam

if a person wants to know the state of iman and mentality of the muslim youth today then you dont need to go any further than facebook.

atheism, acceptance of homosexuality, kufr scientific beliefs, feminism, modernism etc are all quite normal.

you will even see some of them in the masjid for jumma or fasting in ramadhan. they will seem quite normal but when you read what they say on facebook amongst themselves you find out their true feelings and beliefs.

personally i believe this problem is at a critical stage and the ulama really need to take it seriously and look into it further and take very drastic action. the action that needs to be taken needs to be done in a way that the misguided youth can relate to. its all good holding events, but mainly only those who frequent the masjid and talks of the ulama attend. the ones who really need the guidance of the ulama get left behind.

tabligh jamaat is the only group working on the ground. even though i disagree on a lot of issues with them, there is no denying that they are putting in the most effort where needed.

I've heard people talk about Facebook and it seems like its an addiction, and a very big part of their lives. Why would you want others to know, where you went, what your doing, what your wearing, etc, like a step to step biography of your day to day life, how shallow, that people have a need to prove to others that their lives are very interesting. Personally I find the whole concept a bit creepy.

Its like smoking brother, I say it is almost Haram whereas you would say it is only makruh. As they say, they can't put a blanket rule on something and make it Haram(impermissible) if their is no basis for it. Only Allah makes things Haram

I wouldnt be able to say if its haram or not as I've never used it, but can only judge by peoples reaction and involvement with it, and from what I've seen so far its all been negative.
