The guest agrees that smoking is harmful. So is over eating etc, we all agree.

But eating is beneficial, putting the fingers in the mouth and sucking them clean is Sunnah (i know that's not the same as biting the nails)

What is the benefit of smoking? Please give me one positive benefit.

Causing harm to oneself is HARAM!

Slightly different topic but mentions the haramness of self harm.

What is the ruling in Islam on growing tobacco and on the money which the fellaheen earn from selling it?

Praise be to Allaah.

It is not permissible to grow tobacco, or to sell it or use it, because it is haraam for several reasons, because it is very harmful to the health, because it is filthy and evil (khabeeth), and because there is no benefit in it. Muslims have to give it up and keep away from it, and not grow it or deal in it, because when Allaah forbids a thing, He forbids its price. And Allaah knows best.

There is plenty of evidence here that shows the dangers of this slow suicide.

Allah tells us that we must not cause harm to ourselves. Smoking is clearly harmful.

We are taught and we believe that our organs WILL testify against our actions. Smoking is injustice to the human body, do you agree or disagree?

What will your lungs say when it asks for justice from Allah?

Plenty of Quran verses and Hadith can prove this. There is plenty of Daleel out there.

Need we say more!

Once upon a time, going to the clubs, free mixing, loud music and dancing was a distant frightening thought even in the mind of a liberal Muslim.

Today however, we see many Shisha cafes, bars, lounges bars etc. being set up all to exploit the craze of smoking Shisha.
In doing so they have loud music, free mixing and even in some cases dancing. I've even heard of special nights when they bring in belly dancers (Astaghfirullah!).

To top this, some even have private areas/rooms/booths for the more practicing Muslim... these rooms have Music, TV screens, Games consoles.
These places are run mainly by Muslims and their main customers are young Muslims.

They mimic the clubs and offer their Muslim customers a "halal club" experience (of course they won't call it that...).

What a dire state we are in, what a terrible condition our hearts are in.

It is very saddening to think these people, most of who are very talented individuals, waste their efforts on things that are not only bad for them, but also bad for others.

Their hearts are drowned in the money, the fame, the popularity, at feeling important and the thought of "being a boss"... Their hearts no longer have any room to understand what sin is....

Being a former smoker and a regular attendee at Shisha bars, I now fully understand the dangers they pose to our Muslim community, especially the youngsters.
