This is a text i've just received.

Panorama has just aired an extremely controversial programme 'British Schools, Islamic Rules' on BBC1. Extreme bias was shown towards Islamic schools and part of the Panorama report focused unfairly on a prominent scholar, Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq. The allegations were deeply offensive ('medieval'), inaccurate, misleading, deceitfully (partial quotes) presented and presented a misleading and negative portrayal of Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq.

Feel free to copy and paste the below response if you do not have time.

I just wanted to congratulate the BBC on their FALSE portrayal of Sheikh Riyad ul haq. If your id!iot investigators had any investigative skills they would have realised and seen all the good work Sheikh has done for the community of Leicester and how many kids he has got off the streets and off drugs. You have demonised a very prominent and revered scholar who has never preached hatred towards other religions. You have partially quoted him and lied about him. Its a shame you cannot get to terms with the Hell fire quote because after the lies you have spread you certainly will be burning in it. I hope you will be airing a public apology towards Sheikh Riyad ul Haq.

In addition to the above it would be helpful if brothers and sisters could become a little more proactive in getting involved in the running of thier local madresahs - both the private run ones and the large ones based in Masjids.

Were this is not possible at the least write letters and make calls to the madresah to encourage them to rasie their standards - least 90% of our evening madresahs are poorly run in the deeni education, tarbiyah and overall stuctures and teaching (offer your services also in any way you can - dont just ask for things on a plate). Theres so many issues relating to our madresah system that needs urgent fixing.
