i came across this article in 'Hackney Today'. i found it important to share it with as many people as posible.
"the council's licensing committee is inviting residents to take part in a public consultation to look at the way 'sex establishments' are licensed. the committee is responsible for regulating sex shops, cinemas and entertainment venues such as lap dancing clubs and erotic dancing venues and has drafted a new policy to determine whether to grant licenses for these types of businesses in hackney.
a policy is being proposed which means no licenses will normally be granted. hackney has currently 1 licensed sex shop and 4 premises are licensed to provide live performances or display of nudity solely or mainly to sexually stimulate the audience members.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
